November!

November already! Wow! Can't believe how fast the year is going, each month seems to go even faster than the last one. Halloween has been and gone (that's one holiday I look forward to being over, to be honest!) Kiki still loves it, and this year she wanted to go over to her friends neighborhood and go trick or treating with them. It worked out great really, because the kids she'd gone with in the previous two years (around this neighborhood) were apparently not doing the 'hayride' this year. Not the kids choice I'm sure, but the parents had decided not to plan anything. They may have taken them to a nearby neighborhood, I'm not sure, as we don't really see them that often now.

This year was the first year I made Kristen's costume!! Not something I wanted to do, but Kristen decided weeks ago that she wanted to try and make a costume from the World of Warcraft game, which she is still very much in to! It started with just a mask, which was also going to be part of a school project. I told her that's all we would do because I just didn't have time to help her try and make all the other parts...... yeah, well, that was a waste of breath! She insisted she wanted to do it herself, so I went to the craft store with her and bought things she would need, and of course I ended up doing it all anyway! My choice really, I found it easier to try and make it while she was at school, and when she came home she would help me paint some of it. So, here is this years costume...... Apparently a Rogue from WOW, Tier 5!!! And a few others from Halloween Night.

The mask she made, but didn't wear! Instead she painted her face.

Prior to Halloween, I celebrated my 51st birthday!!! I had a lovely day relaxing, knitting, having a trip to the local yarn store, and face-timing with my sister and brother in law. They had a glass of 'champers' with me :-)

And I played around with some new makeup I got :-)

Thank you for my birthday gifts :-) These are the lovely Karbonz needles, they are wonderful to use.

And finally before I go, I forgot to start this post with a picture of Kiki, after just getting home from the dentist! She had 4 baby teeth pulled that day. Tomorrow, we go to the ortho to finally get her braces on!!!

A little update

Hi there,
As promised, here's a little update of what's been happening at Casa Schulz! I did actually start a post someime last week (or it might have been the week before) when I started with telling you we had snow! But the post wasn't dated and I've already forgotten what day it was, that we had snow. It was just a slight dusting, and since then the temps have gone up again and it now feels more like summer than it did back in July!

I'm typing this upstairs on my iPad so hopefully the pictures are showing up ok, I'm uploading them as I type, from my phone! Last weekend was our neighborhood Oktoberfest, down at the park. We had a great day for it, weather was perfect, nice and sunny, not too hot. We have 'free' beer and wine, and brats and dogs, and side dishes and cookies etc. and a band playing. I think the first year we were he they had an 'oom pa pa' band (at least that's what I call it), but last year and this year it's just been a 'normal' band singing old dance songs. It was still ok, I just think the oompapa band was fun and more in keeping with the theme!  I only took one photo on my phone! Actually, Jason took it......

After the hot days we've had this week (mid 80's and sunny) we are having thunder this afternoon, and it's just started raining. I don't mind it at all, as I'm sitting on my bed looking at the view and it's quite cozy.  I've started decorating a little for Fall, so I really feel like summer is over, and I'm looking forward to much cooler days

Jason bought a little remote helicopter with his gift card, Kiki 'Aced' her Tcap tests, I've been doing the usual sewing, and knitting and all the other fun stuff like housework! And the puppies, do what they do best...... Sleep, eat, and sleep some more!

I'll end here as my iPad is not cooperating and won't let me scroll up and down! If I think of more to write I'll get on the computer.

A Whole Year!

Has it really been over a year since I wrote in here?!! I really had no intentions of getting back to blogging, but I made a promise to someone (who shall remain annonymous) that I would post here at least once a week so they knew what was going on in our little corner of the world!

So, what is going on in our little world? Well, I'm not going to try and post about a whole years worth of stuff. Suffice to say, all is well in our little world and here's what we've been up to lately.... School! Started back early, here in Colorado. Kiki started 8th grade 3 weeks ago! Hard to believe she'll be in High School this time next year!

My inlaws came for a visit at the beginning of August and were here for Jason's birthday and Kiki's first day of school.

We are going to a wedding tomorrow! A friend of Jason's from work. He actually got married a couple of months ago, but they are having another ceremony for friends and family. I don't think Kiki will be going! She started gettint a sore throat yesterday, and today is all congested and stuffed up. She's pretty worn out too and is just sitting on our bed right now watching tv! Tomorrow is a holiday (Labor Day) here, so she at least has another day off before going to school. Hopefully she'll be feeling a lot better by Tuesday.

Not much else going on this week. Kiki got her expander on (she'll be getting braces in a few months but needs an expander first!). She seems to be putting up with it pretty well. I have to 'turn' it every night with a little key so that it keeps expanding!!!

Pups are doing well, not much to report with them, other than I'm going to try and groom them myself! It costs me over $100 to get them both cut and they need it supposedly every 6-8 weeks!!! Kiki and I don't even spend that much on our hair. There's lots of how to videos on YouTube, so we'll see how I get on.

Well, that wraps it up for this week. Might have more to write by next weekend!
