I've come to the conclusion, not recently mind you (I think I've known this for a while now) that I have a little obsession with . . . . . Magazines! Only certain ones, but the ones I like I just can't bear to part with and so over the years they seem to have mounted up - just a tad! I thought I'd share with you just a few of my favorites!
Of course right now, these are all of my favorites! As we near the Holidays I'm seeing all the new lovely Christmas magazines hit the shelves, but I keep telling myself I shouldn't buy any more. These (above) are some of the ones I pulled off my shelves last night to browse through when I went to bed! Seriously, if I never buy another Holiday magazine again, I'm sure I'd be just fine - but I keep thinking I may be missing something 'new' in the most current edition :-)
As well as Holiday mags, there's my knitting magazines (this is where the obsession really kicks in), I seriously can't stop buying these, because there's new knitting patterns in them every month.
I counted each pile and there's about 30-40 mags in each. That's over 150 knitting magazines!!! And I still keep buying more.
In the magazine holders below that I have my food magazines. More Paula and Sandra Lee mags that I've bought over the years, Clean Eating magazines, Taste of Home magazines and a few other odd ones that I just can't resist when I'm in the grocery store!
So, that's just a few of the mags I'm browsing right now. What about you, do you have a favorite magazine you can't resist buying every time it hits the stands? Do you have subscriptions to any of them. Right now I'm surprised I don't have any subscriptions to my favorite mags! I may have to rectify that shortly.
With Christmas on my mind, I've made a start at wrapping the hand knit gifts I've made. I've kept the wrapping very simple and 'rustic' looking. Tissue paper and yarn! I think it goes well with the hand made theme. I hope my family members appreciate them. I've been knitting all year so I would have something sweet and personal to send to each of them.
I also made a start on some online shopping at Amazon this week. Should be fun when that arrives next week. I can't believe it's already that time to start wrapping up gifts! Perhaps not for many of you, who don't start til December, but I personally like to start getting things done now, rather than later ;-) Have a wonderful weekend, I'll be back Monday.

Thank you Judy for my sweet Thanksgiving Sig Tag.

I read alot of magazines also. My friends and I share the ones we get. Some magazines are so expensive! I am sure your family will appreciate their homemade gift! :)
I have a magazine obsession too. I have an especially hard time resisting Southern Living and Country Living. I can't believe that you have gotten started on Christmas already. I wish I was that smart. It tell myself every year that I need to start earlier, but then I wait. Carla
WOW--now that's a lot of magazines!
I used to buy them more, but lately I've been so busy I rarely buy any. At the moment I don't have any subscriptions, but my favorites to take a peek through are People and Us.
You're my kind of girl!! I love magazines too. In fact, we like many of the same...Paula Deen, knitting, Taste of Home. My all-time favorite is Southern Living. Even though I live in the north and, except for my four years of college in Virginia, I always have. But I am a southern girl at heart. Can't find a copy of another southern magazine up here though - Garden & Gun. Every now and then I buy a magazine for my Nook. Books are easier on the Nook - I still like the magazines in traditional form. If you do succumb to the pull of a new holiday magazine...please post a review!!
Hi Denise, I use to buy a lot of magazines but now I find what I want online. I really like your idea of using yarn to wrap your gifts. What a cook idea!!! I have pics at my blog too. Happy Sunday!
I get the magazine obsession completely. I've been quite good lately and have been giving away my old Country Living mags and I'm even culling my treasured Martha Stewart. My real obsession is with Vogue, and a certain type of home mag, like The English Home, Period Home, things like that. Those ones do not get put out. I've got every copy of Vogue from the past 6 or 7 years. I think my little Princess may end up with a career in fashion or journalism, so my reasoning for hanging on to them is she'll need them as research!
I've also got all the Mary Engelbreit mags you sent me on our mag exchange, and I have a few Romantic Homes and a Romantic Country. Not easy to get here, so I really treasure them.
I've only let myself buy one Christmas special this year, I've got some old ones that I can't bear to chuck and a lot of the new ones aren't very inspiring.
So yes, I get the magazine thing!
Hope you are having a great weekend. Turned v. cold here this weekend. I love it!

I confess that I love magazines too. I've given some away with the idea of moving but I keep my quilting ones.
Your wrapped packages are so pretty. I love the simple look.
