Graduating - with Honors!

I just realized I hadn't shared pictures on here of Kiki graduating from Elementary school!! We've been finished school for a whole week already, but the Thursday before the kids got out the school had a graduation ceremony for the kindergarten kids (in the morning) and the 5th graders in the afternoon. I have to say I had tears in my eyes as the kids walked in to the hall with little hats on and they played the 'pomp and circumstance' tune (The Graduation March). I think I'm getting overly emotional in my 'old age' (or perhaps I've always been like this!) but I just wanted to squeeze and hug Kiki as she walked passed, I was so proud of her. Here's a few pictures I managed to get of her after the graduation. Hard to get some on stage, they always turn out blurry!

Her 5th grade teacher, Mrs Mossell.

with the Assistant Principal

and one of her bff's, Eden :-)

and at home with her Diploma. I bought the flowers and balloon to take to the graduation, like many parents did. Kristen graduated with Honors - a straight A student. We're so proud of her.

Congratulations! I was the same way when mine graduated. I was never as mushy as I've been since I had kids. It's such a mixed time - happiness that they're doing well and growing, and sadness for the days left behind. I guess that's why they call these bittersweet, right?

nice to see your comment, and I appreciate it. I know how busy you are. Do you have a moving date yet?

Once you are moved and settled, I recommend you subscribe to Mollie Makes magazine. I keep meaning to tell you about it and forgetting. It is a craft mag,and utterly brilliant. I am sure they will send them to the USA. They have all manner of crafts, but also have a lot of knitting and crochet recipes. I know, that's not what they're called, but can't think of hte name!

This is their website.

What I love most about the mag is the amount of brilliant blogs you can find through it. You will LOVE this mag, promise. So if you can get it, get it!

happy packing! xxx

Well done Kiki! Great to be such a wonderful student! What's this... you're moving to Denver? If I had to live somewhere else, I'd probably pick Colorado. Too bad about all the fires right now. Look forward to hearing more about the move... have you found a new house? (((Hugz)))

you are quiet, have you moved yet? or are you in the process of moving right now?! Either way, it's exciting.

ooh, don't bother to visit RDD, I've closed it for the summer (and probably beyond).

Enjoy what's left of the week. 4th July for you soon is it not?! Enjoy it, wherever you will be xx

I didn't realize that you have a blog Denise.
Your daughter is lovely. What a joy to have each other for company.
Looking back kids grow up terribly fast. Without our realizing it until they too old to 'chuck under the chin' so to speak.
