You Can Laugh At My Wellies!

Go ahead, laugh :-) Jason does every time I wear them! He wonders why I put such big (welly) boots on to go out in the garden, and I tell him “because if I wear my flip flops the fire ants will get me!”.

We’ve been busy in the garden all weekend, planting seeds, and yesterday I had my inlaws over to celebrate mom-in-laws birthday (which is actually tomorrow). I’ll post more about that later. I’ve been to the ENT this morning for a check up and to pick up my allergy drops. I just got back and need to catch up on laundry and cleaning up the kitchen (what’s new?!) so here’s a few pictures, and hopefully I’ll be back tomorrow.

Last week Kristen and I started painting some garden signs. They came out pretty good. I need to do more for things like corn, potatoes, onions and peas. . .

Beautiful garden. Can't wait to see it in full bloom! Glad you have made it a family affair. I love your wellies BTW. I have been wanting some for quite awhile. I did find a pair of excellent rainboots similar, new, at the thrift shop. Tell your husband that the wellies aren't so bad. Tell him you know a girl on line who wears Uggs, Crocs. and Doc. Martins. (that'd be me.)

Hi Denise! Your garden is going to be great again and love the signs and how you get Kiki into the act painting and also cooking in the post before. :) Pia was on Regis this morning and she's been offered a recording contract. I think Hayley has taken to heart when they tell her they like her "growling" so that's ALL she does now! There's a lot of great singers left but I agree that none have the whole package. enjoy the week ahead! (((Hugz)))

I love wellies, though I don't wear them as much since we moved back from England. Mine are pink. :-) BTW, you look great in them!

Your garden is beautiful! And the signs are a great idea and a fun project. My husband just planted ours and I'm really proud of him for the hard work that went into it.

I wear Wellies out in the yard too...and your hubby will laugh but mine go all the way up to my knee. You are RIGHT...Fire Ant will GET ya. And other various critters! I think we BOTH rock the wellie look.
The garden is impressive and I just love the signs your daughter is working on. Very creative!

Oh things look good please show us some progress photos of your garden!

I won't laugh at your wellies - it did take me a minute to figure out what you mean - but I would wear them to garden too :)

I just love your signs!!! I'll have to come up with something cute for my kiddos to help with. They're only 4 and 2 so I don't think I could leave them to make some pretty things completely by themselves. Great ideas, thanks for sharing!

I fully understand why you wear your wellies as I remember I got bit by a fire ant and boy does it sting.
