...of the year! Yes, I'm singing Christmas songs and I have 3 Christmas trees up already, although they don't have the toys on them, Kristen and I will be doing that tonight. Wanna see a sneek peek of our 'doggie themed tree'?

I put this tree up yesterday in the game room and added lights to it. When Kristen came home from school she was thrilled to see it and immediately went looking for all her doggy soft toys to place around the tree (and this isn't even half of them!). I know you can't see much of the tree, I told you it was just a peek! Of course I'll be sharing pictures of everything once I'm finished decorating.
It's raining this morning, so I can't take 'outside' pictures for you. So I'll post about the Paula Deen recipe I tried last week....

This is Mexican Veggie Casserole. For a Paula Deen recipe this was surprisingly light in the 'fat' department. There was only 2 tblsp of oil used to saute the onions and zucchini, then you added canned corn, black beans, ranch-style beans, can of toms w/chilis and taco mix. The cheese in between the corn tortillas was neufchatel (1/3 less fat) and light sour cream and 2% cheddar cheese! I didn't take step by step photos and didn't even get a picture of the finished dish, but the full recipe can be found in the Nov/Dec issue of
Cooking with Paual Deen. This was really very tasty and we enjoyed it with a crisp green salad, I didn't miss the meat at all.
I couldn't resist changing my blog look over to a Christmasy one ;-) Tonight we are taking Kristen to see A Christmas Carol in 3D, I can't wait.
Have a fun weekend whatever you're doing.

Hi Denise, it looks like a cute tree, I love the doggie theme. I like Paula Deen Southern recipes, I cook mostly Italian but enjoy doing some Southern specialties too. Have a great weekend, hugs
Hi Denise! I love your doggy themed tree! Do you have a theme for the other two? I want to see that movie but we are going to see New Moon from the Twilight series tonight. That is, if we can get tickets. ((BIG HUGS))
I'm loving the rain today! It has given me the excuse to sit in a chair reading while listening the gentle sound of rain. Hope you are having fun with your Christmas decorations. I'll look forward to seeing what you do.
Hi Denise,
Oh I can't wait to start decorating for Christmas very soon! It sounds like you have gotten your trees up. I hope to see them soon.
What a delicious sounding meal.
PD is always yummy.
Have a good weekend. ~Melissa :)
I am so busting to put our trees up, but have been hanging off because I want to wash all the big living room windows inside and out first. KiKi is going to be over the moon about your doggy themed tree...how cute. I look forward to seeing the rest when you have that up.
Oh tell me about gardens getting wild and messy. We have a huge task ahead in the next few days to get our back yard weeded and neat again. I'm dreading it, but want the end result, so that is my motivation. Tomorrow is going to be cooler and Dave's on holidays, so we hope to get stuck into it....ugh!
I hope you have a lovely relaxing Thanksgiving week and how nice that your neighbours have invited you over. I can't believe it's been a year since our last trip to the US already.
Leaving you big hugs and lots of love. xx
Hi Denise! That's fun to have different themed trees. :) We wanted to get one of our villages up this weekend but we had Ryan & Jacob here so that wouldn't have worked! The casserole looks yummy- love anything Mexican. Hope you enjoyed the movie. (((Hugz)))
Hi Denise!
What a cute tree, I love it!
I enjoy decorating for Christmas and will begin a few days after Thanksgiving. I have quite a bit of Thanksgiving and Harvest type stuff out now.
Hope you are having a nice Sunday.
Love you
xxxx
thanks for the comment. Don't know is the answer to your Q. Time is of the essence these days, and I decided to update only one blog for now. I thought I'd choose CR for the simple reason that it's more fun at the moment. I don't have to go into too much detail as I keep most things private and tend to talk only about creative stuff on there. I'm sure my talking about potty training on R&T has been boring people, at least this way I can still ramble on, but not on such private - boring - matters. I can write just once a week and no one worries that something is wrong, so from several points of view it's just a fun blog to keep. :O) I haven't vanished, I'm just being more sensible with my time and making blogging fun for 'me' again.
Have a great start to the week :o) xx
