It was Kristen’s first taste of COFFEE that made her pull such a face!
She asked last week if she could try a taste of coffee and I had no problems saying yes. I drank coffee from an early age, because I didn’t like tea AND we used to have instant coffee (back home in England) which we made very weak! The fact that a friend’s little boy who is only 3 yrs old likes the taste, I think intrigued her, not to mention her friend Connor next door really likes it too.
I always have creamer in but she wanted to pick one herself while we were at the store. She chose Peppermint Mocha, and I picked up a small bottle of Caramel Macchiato :-) Here she is taking her first sip of the peppermint coffee . . .
I had a feeling she wouldn’t like it right off the bat, it was totally new to her, I told her to try again, now that she knew what to expect.
She still didn’t like it. . . so, how about the Caramel Macchiato? I made a little cup of that for her
The verdict?
As you can see, much nicer! She liked that one and drank a small cup of it. She had another cup on Sunday morning, but said she would probably only drink a little of it each weekend – which is fine by me ;-)

oh yuk, I have to say I don't like coffee or tea
Oh, funny! I guess coffee is an acquired taste, huh?
We lived in Michigan when my boys were little, and we drank A LOT of coffee then. We had regular coffee in the morning and then we were always making a pot of decaf throughout the day. Flavored coffees were all the rage back then. Preston started drinking coffee (decaf, of course) when he was TWO. I have sweet memories of his coming down the stairs saying, "Tan I have some detaf hazelnut?" (He pronounded his c's and k's as t's--sometimes I still call decaf "detaf"!)
Hope you're having a great week!
I will have to try the Caramel Macchiato coffee creamer.
My girls drink lattes, but don't like coffee at all. Maybe with some flavoring they would like it. I love Kristen's face after the first cup....too cute. Carla
Seeing your Coffee Mate in that container reminded me of being in the US...nice. I'm betting Kiki will get to love coffee. Isn't it funny how everyone used to have instant coffee...so different to today. My mum used to make my dad black instant Nescafe and I used to take a big whiff of the open jar and then his coffee before she gave it to him and loved that smell so much. In those days I always thought it smelt a lot better than it tasted, but gradually I got to love drinking coffee too. I'm sure Kiki will also. Of course now I absolutely love coffee and drink it without sugar...can't stand sugar in it at all, ever. I would have thought you being an English girl you'd be sure to be a tea drinker. I don't drink tea much at all.
Your blog is looking lovely...great job! Hope your week is going well. I can see your being a busy bee with your beautiful sewing...they're sure to sell like hot cakes. Leaving you big hugs. xx

I just want to let you know I bought caramel macchiato coffee creamer, and I love it! I think it's the best one I've tried. Thanks for the post. Have a wonderful weekend.
