I know I haven't been the greatest blogger over the past few months. Like many others Facebook was what seemed to keep me occupied the most and it was nice just adding little 'status reports' instead of having to think of something longer to post about. But I go through phases, as do we all, and I'm now starting to blog again more. Mainly because my sister (who just visited) isn't on Facebook and she loves reading my blog :-) but also because I've made a lot of bloggy friends out there and I don't want to lose touch with them.
Darylynn mentioned the other day (her post dated June 25th) that she would hate to see a demise in blogging. There's no denying Facebook is fun, that's why I still use it, but I agree with D when she says , "there is just not the creativity or the depth of getting to know people on those sites that there is with blogging"
I remember too how excited I was when I first started blogging, getting to make new friends and over the years, becoming very close to some of them. I would smile every time I had a new comment even if it was from someone I'd never met in blogland before. I would eagerly return the visit to their blog and say hi. This week I decided I needed to get back to visiting my 'bloggy friends' and I went through my reads list in my right hand menu. I have added those reads to my 'blogfeed' on blogger. It automatically tells me when you have updated. Some were old links and I will have to search around to get the new url's I think (if indeed they are still blogging?). The 3 names you still see under 'blogging friends' over to the right are the blogs that won't let me add them to blogger. I don't' want to lose touch with you gals, so I left your names there so I can click on them every day to see if you've updated your blogs :-)
I honestly think there is a demise in blogging right now, but who am I to comment when I've been so lax in updating in the past few months. I've always said too that you should never feel like you 'HAVE' to blog if you don't feel like it. There are certainly lots of other blogs out there for the reading, and there are many more new friends to make in bloggyland.
Today though I just want to say, if you've been reading my blog for some time now, I consider you a very dear friend. Thank you for 'not losing touch with me' even when I didn't blog often. And if you are new to reading my blog, then leave me a comment - say "hi" and let me know if you have a blog I can come visit too :-)
Have a blessed day.

Glad your still around!!
Suzanne
a sweet post Denise. I think there are just times when it's simply too hard to think of anything to write. I know when I take a break it's no longer just for a day, but tends to be a week at a time. I end up getting busy offline and just can't be bothered to think of anything to write.
Things have changed since five or six years ago. Mind you, I think I am still in contact with more or less the same people. Some have drifted away and some I was more than glad to see the back of!!!!
Anyway. Just wanted to say hello. hope your a/c is sorted out quickly. At least we have a slight prospect of rain on Friday, or at least a bit of cloud. I'll take either, I just want this non stop sunshine rubbish to stop!
xx

Hi Denise! Glad to see you blogging more often but don't let it become a nuisance for you. I always figure that if someone comes and visits me, they've probably posted and I always return the visit. I'm sure it's a great way for you family to keep up with you and your family. For anyone else who may read this and missed my post, please know I wasn't being negative about facebook. I use it and like it but just don't want to see it replace blogging. :) Have a great evening! (((Hugz)))
Hi Denise, I agree with you and Darylynn about having our blogs. I have been working on mine too. I love when you post pictures of the food you are cooking. The stuffed jalepenos sounds great. You want to share the recipes. My men will love it. Thank you. Hugs
I read every time you post (I use Bloglines). I mostly just sit here and envy the fact that all your plants grow and mine don't, yet we live in the same place. We even use home made compost and amend the soil! Too many rocks, I think.
I see many of my friends who were blogging when I started are no longer at it, and I miss their voices. Blogs are a wonderful way to get to know people. I love learning how other people think, what matters to them, and of course what they knit!
As you know, using the Blogger bloglines thing has really helped streamline blog hopping for me.
I for one am VERY glad you are back to blogging because I too think that we get to know more about each other than the quick little Facebook updates. Keep on bloggin' sista! ;-)
Love you xo
