A Bright and Sunny Day!

I'm on my laptop so I can't add any pictures from here. Just wanted to jump on quickly this morning and make a post, or there will be a 3 or 4 day gap if I don't.

Jason took Kristen over to his friend's house last night. They have a 4 yr old little boy who loves to play with her and she likes to play with him too (and all his toys!). I never go with them cos it means I get a nice quiet 'me' night. If I'd known he was going I would have gotten myself some sushi for dinner but it was still cold and, wet outside and I didn't fancy the drive to the store. I just had some cheese and crackers with a glass of wine instead.

Jason had ordered the movie 'Hairspray' from Blockbuster for me and said he would watch it with me! Despite it being a musical (which he normally hates). But I told him last night that I would just watch it myself if he wasn't too bothered about seeing it, so he said yes ok. OMG!!! I am so glad I didn't make him watch it - actually I don't think he would have lasted more than 5 minutes. I had heard it was a pretty good movie! I thought it was TERRIBLE.... REALLY REALLY TERRIBLE. I ended up fast-forwarding some of the songs, they just seemed to go on forever, and none of them were very catchy! The only one I'd heard before was the last song. Most of the time during the movie all I kept thinking was "that's John Travolta - dressed as a woman!!" And he was trying to do a 'baltimorian' accent I think, which sounded ridiculous. Has anyone else seen the movie? What did you think of it?

This morning we were going to go to Kristen's school (me and Kristen) to a QUEST meeting about 'independent study'. There are two times 9.30-11.30 and 1.30-3.30. I told Kristen we'd go to the early one and get it over with, then we'd have the day free to ourselves. BUT. . . . she never comes home until late when they go to Jason's friends, they came in at midnight! And it's now 8.30am and she's still sleeping. I figured as much, so I guess we're going to the 1.30 meeting.

That's all that's on my agenda today. I've been knitting like crazy as usual so I'll be doing more of that this afternoon ;-)
Enjoy your Saturday whatever you're doing.

I enjoyed Hairspray but I have to admit I was distracted by John Travolta as a woman. But apparently that is how it is on Broadway also - that part is meant for a man to play. Strange isn't it?

Denise, you are a super fast knitter! Sheesh girl...it takes me forever to make something and you just breeze through. LOL I love the new tank top you are making.

Thanks for the tip... I just couldn't bring myself to rent that movie for some reason. I remembered it from it's last "go around", I guess, and really didn't care for it then.

I planning on cooking this weekend. Because of your influence I bought some ground turkey. That is something new for me. Wish me luck. Hugs

Hi Denise!
I haven't seen the movie Hairspray. I have been wanting to, but maybe I don't now! lol

I too love Beth Moore! Our bible study group is in the 2nd half of the Daniel study. I am really enjoying it and learning a lot.

Take care sweetie, have a wonderful Sunday.

no, I haven't seen Hairspray. Well, I think I've seen the original with Rikki Lake, but not the remake. Not really my thing, and after hearing what you thought of it, I won't bother with it when it comes on TV.

ooh, how lovely to have a night to yourself. I am hoping that girly magoo will go to bed early so I can do my nails and have some time to myself. :O) I've done all my housework and all the washing and ironing, cooked roast beef for lunch, AND made little girly chicken, gravy, pea and carrot potato topped pie for tea today and tomorrow, and the same for Bill for tomorrow. I feel pretty organised I can tell you! :O)

So, now I'm off for a brew. I think I deserve it.

If you a knitting lots this weekend, by next weekend you will be knitting even more. At least one of your mags will arrive by then!

Hi sweets,
So nice you got some time to yourself. What a shame your movie turned out to be not as good as you'd hoped. Boy, you're doing great with your knitting. I've had a jumper (sweater) have made for Dan since last winter and by the time I finish it I'm sure it won't fit him! Oh well, it will do for the next one (no she isn't pregnant but is hoping to be).

Hope you have a really good week. Big hugs, me xx

Hi Denise, I thought the movie was ok. I like musicals. Maybe because I saw it at the movies with friends. I am going tomorrow to see 27 Dresses. Beth Moore is really good. Enjoy your week. Hugs

Hi Denise that is to funny about the movie being so terrible. My daughter and DIL both saw it twice they said it was funny! I guess each to their own right. I don't like musicals either. I will scatch this one off the list. I don't like going out in the rain to get anything, I will eat hot cereal or cold cereal if I have to which is not a bad meal for me. Have a great week. big hugs

I'm afraid to tell you D that Doug & I LOVE Hairspray!! We saw it at the theater and then bought it & have seen it like 4 times already. I love dance movies so I think I'm more in love with the dancing, wishing I could do it, but we find the tunes catchy. Doug is singing them all the time - lol (Don't tell other men that though or they may want to beat him up!)

Your "me" time dinner sounded lovely!! Nothing like a good cheese & crackers with some wine! YUMMY!! I'd take that over sushi anyday - lol

Hope you're having a great week so far! We're off to Nashville on Thursday for Doug's business. Guess I should start thinking about packing ;-)

Love ya xo
