Menu Plan Monday (a day late!)

Heather asked recently if I would share my 'weekly menu' and that it might give her and some of you some ideas! I often mean to do this but never seem to get around to it... but here is my menu plan for this week (and if you want to see lots more blogs that do the 'Menu Plan Monday', just click the graphic above that takes you to Laura's Blog!

Monday: Spaghetti Carbonara (I simply use Ragu Alfredo sauce, add mushrooms and bacon and whole wheat spaghetti) I serve this with tinned sweet peas. This is what I would call a 'storage meal' - usually everything I need is in my pantry. Monday's will often be storage meals from now on because I don't plan on going to the grocery store (for fresh fruit and veg) until Tuesday.

Tuesday:
Chicken Parmesan (I tried this recipe a couple of weeks ago and it turned out really good. It's made by Ellie Krieger from Food Network's 'Healthy Appetite'.) I'll be serving this with a salad.

Wednesday:
Southwestern Goulash. (This recipe comes from Taste of Home's Healthy Cooking magazine, June/July o8 issue. This will be the first time trying this. I tried to link to the recipe for you, but you have to subscribe to the magazine to access it!). I'll let you know how it turns out.

Thursday:
BBQ Chicken Sandwich. (I did find a healthy recipe for this from Ellie Krieger on Food Network, but I'm trying this the easy way because I'm going to Bible Study tonight. I will simply put chicken breasts in the crock pot and add bbq sauce and let cook all day. Serve with a salad.

Friday:
Honey Grilled Chicken. (another recipe from the Healthy Eating mag (June/July issue). And another one I haven't tried yet! I'll serve this with veggies and brown rice.

Saturday: Chili Beef Quesadillas. (Yet another new recipe and again from Healthy Eating magazine (Aug/Sept issue). I just really liked the look of these so I'm gonna give them a try).

Sunday: ????? I never know what to do on Sundays!

Food pictures were taken from various websites. I will replace and add my own when I've tried the dish and taken a picture of it ;-)

BON APPETITE!

Thanks for sharing. I am always trying to figure out what to cook. Today we had tacos. I have no clue for tomorrow. I loved how you planned everything out. My favorite dish is carbonara. I will have to try that.

I like the idea of menu planning, but for some reason it never works for me :( I plan something and then April says she wants something else and will fend for herself, so in essence I end up cooking for two (Ben is just super picky and rarely eats what I cook). I like the bbq chicken sandwich idea, though. I need to get the crock pot out and going again. Have a great Wednesday sweetie. Big hugs!

ooh, food talk! I love it! :O) I need to get back to doing my food plans, it all went a bit pear shaped when Bill was on hols, as I just did 'whatever' and didn't have to plan ahead considering he might be late home. I thought it would be easier, but actually, I was a bit muddled sometimes. I find it so much help to know in advance what I intend to cook.

Post arrived today! Thank you so much, I love it! It is PERFECT! I shoved it on the girls head, but she's in a funny mood and just kept pulling it off again. As we were going upstairs, she turned and said 'bye, bye, pummkiin'. So she aproves! Thank you again, it is absolutely lovely.

Ok, time to clean the bathrooms, bah humbug! hate that job! xxxxx

Hi Denise! Sounds like a great week of meals! I'm so thankful that Jeff eats at the fire station half the time because I get out of a lot of cooking. I eat too much when he's around since I cook more for him. On my own, I can pop in a lean cuisine or just make a salad. :) Does Kristen like all those dinners, too? (((Hugz)))

Hi sweetie,
Look at little miss organised you! Great job. With working long days cooking is the last thing I feel like, so I find it a chore actually and will often try to do anough for two nights so I don't have to cook every night...slack I know, but mt family are great and are just happy to be fed home cooked meals. Dave will often cook too, so we take turns pretty much. Does Jason cook?

I'm keen to know how Mam is doing? Any updates or is no news food news.

I hope Kristen's first week back at school is going well for her, and good on you for getting yourself up bright and early.

Sorry I haven't been back sooner, it's been a very busy week again.

Have a great weekend (it's almost Friday for us). Big hugs, xx
