Definitely got the blahs . . .

especially when it comes to blogging :-(  Perhaps because things are slow around here, or perhaps it’s the time of year… but I just can’t seem to come up with anything to blog about. To be completely honest, I can’t even think of what to comment when I visit blogs either? Am I spending too much time on here? getting ‘burned out’?  I don’t have the answers, I just know I feel in a slump.  And I feel like my blog is taking a  turn for the ‘boring’!

I’ve been knitting alot, probably the reason I don’t have anything else to blog about! But I’m determined this year to have gifts ready for friends and family come December, so I’ve been making lists and thinking of what to knit and for who (or is that whom?).

This is one of my latest knits (a custom order for a very special friend) . . .

A ‘felted’ princess hat. Next to it is a flower stick I made to send to the recipient.

Emily_princesshat1 THIS is why I knit! Well it’s one of the reasons. . . see that big smile above, and the look of surprise below when ‘Princess Emily’ sees herself for the first time wearing her pretty hat :-)

I love knitting for friends and family. I’d love to sell more of my knits too, even if I don’t make that much from it, but knitting takes time, and while I’m trying to knit gifts too it’s hard to get my Etsy shop full.  The great thing is though, I LOVE TO KNIT – so whether I sell it or gift it, I win both ways :-)

DSCF4409 Another finished knit. . . but I won’t say who it’s for ;-)

I started this post thinking I would show you my ‘decluttered cupboards, because I had nothing else to blog about, but as you can see I got off subject a little – actually I never got on subject, LOL. Oh well, at least it’s a post. I’ll show you the cupboards next time . . . bet ya can’t wait!

Thanks for letting me show off my ‘skills’ :-)

I don't blog unless I have something I want to get off my chest or out of my mind. (yes, I am already there).
But I find that I will start a sentence and all of a sudden there's 3 or 4 paragraphs. Read, write, comment or not or say - not now, and play solitaire!

I'm in the same place. I would say it was January, but last year I posted quite a lot in January. But I think we just need to take it slow, and things will come back together.
Your hat is adorable, and so is the recipient! The joy on her face is a precious.

That princess hat is adorable and I am also loving that scarf! I always love it when you post your knitting projects.
I thing January is pulling a lot of us down with it. Hurry February!

I am with you Denise! I feel the same way. Don't care about reading blogs, don't care about posting on my own blog, and really just don't care about being online much. I haven't blogged since Sunday and I haven't read any blogs either. I don't know what it is. The winter weather, the move, who knows.

you know how I'm feeling! I don't know if it's just getting into the swing of a new year, or what. But things feel very quiet and I can't even be bothered to make many visits either.

Lovely that you are spending time knitting instead. I'm trying to spend time reading, and going to the park with girly girl before the rain starts again.

love your latest knits.

You have some serious skills!

Actually, I'll love seeing your cupboards because they're YOUR cupboards. The thing I like best about you, Denise, is that you're you--you're kind, you're honest, you're a real bright spot in my life.

So blog when you like and don't worry about it--I'm always glad when a post from you pops up in my reader! :)

I think everyone gets the winter blahs! I know that I do. You found something great to blog about. The picture of her little face in the mirror said it all. Too cute. Carla

I agree with Southern Lady - it's the winter doldrums! I always get the urge to stay home and sort of hibernate this time of year. Just let me cook, bake, and knit!

Hi Denise! I know I'm just busy right now and hard to find time for blogging. The princess hat and wand are so cute and Emily is such a perfect model- she's so expressive and as my MIL would say, "a ham-bone!" :) Enjoy the weekend! (((Hugz)))
