Getting busy . . .

Things are starting to speed up here! Kristen's birthday party is fast approaching. I'm having the neighbors and some of her friends over on Saturday afternoon so I need to start planning. I can't believe next week is Thanksgiving - NO SCHOOL after Friday :-)  I am not hosting this year so there isn't much to do for that.

The gym seems to be taking up all my time, although I don't know why as I'm only there for an hour and a half each morning, usually getting home by 10am!  I didn't go this morning - Cheryl called just as I was leaving the house at 8.30 to say she'd been called out. She planned on going later about 11am, but I went for groceries and when I got back decided to get stuck in to housework. I want to tell myself it's ok to have a day off (from the gym) or even two days off a week.

I got the game room all cleaned up, dusted and vacuumed. Did 3 loads of laundry, put the laundry away, cleared up in the kitchen, swept the kitchen and hallway floors. At least I feel like I've accomplished something today.

We went over to Cheryl's on Saturday night. She'd bought some champagne to try that the store was having samples of :-)  I had to take a couple of pictures (especially for you Nenna - we were wishing you were here).

Hope you're all having a great start to your week. I just realized why I want to decorate for Christmas so early. . . every time I turn on the tv there's a commercial on with Santa in it!! AND they're already showing Christmas movies on Hallmark channel!!!!!!

Thanks for the reminder about the Hallmark channel. I love those sappy movies! Seriously!! Your party sounded fun...champagne really makes me silly, and it doesn't take much!! I do love it though. Great picture of you and your hubs!

Denise, I love to hear about the things you do with Cheryl. You are so blessed to have such a lovely friend as a neighbor! Does Kristen have the entire week of Thanksgiving off from school?? That would be so nice! :)

I love a spot of bubbly. Have you tried Prosecco? It is my favourite. I used to be a cava drinker (I want to be a champagne only drinker, but sadly don't have endless pots of loot!), but now I would rather have Prosecco. More like champagne than cava, delicate and just gorgeous.

If you haven't tried it, put it on your list of drinks to try. Perfect for a celebration or just for a treat.

I bought Miracle on 34th St at the weekend. I had it on video but chucked it after we changed over to all dvd players (the realised we still had a video in the living room! doh!), I can't wait to watch it again.

got to go. Been in town for shoes, so now I have to play catch up!

have a fab day xx

Sounds like you're a busy gal! I've been trying to go to the gym, but I am only doing 2-3 days a week. You're doing awesome! That's great!
We are decorating for Christmas this coming weekend. I know it's a bit early, but that's when we have time, so that's when we're going to do it. I'm super excited!

Have a great day!

Thank you for catching the error on my blog entry. I went back to see what I had done wrong and laughed!

Hi Denise, Yes, the mesh is really stiff. It is wide and a little hard to work with. However, once you start working with it it gets easier to handle.

I love that candy cane arrangement you posted below! Might have to copy that idea! Kristen
