Back To School!

I've always taken pictures of Kristen on her first day back to school. Usually with a new back pack and new clothes, and new shoes. This year the pictures look a little different!

School started for us on Monday 20th August, but we are doing the K12 program this year, which is a virtual school online, that you do from home. It's kinda like homeschooling but a lot of the lessons are online, with a lot of teacher support. I still wanted to take pictures of Kiki's first day, but instead of new clothes, she was still in her 'wolf night shirt', and instead of a backpack, she carried 'Cecil The Computer' Monster, that I knit for her ;-) (it's from a book called Knitted Monsters) . . . .

Yes, we have been doing our school work in pj's this week, and it's been fun ;-) I am sitting with Kristen for all of her lessons so my day is pretty full. I'm her 'Learning Coach' and I help her prepare for the lessons, get the books she needs, supplies that she might need for Science and Art. It's like I have a full time job now!! Once we move I will have to get a schedule set up where she can do some lessons on her own, while I do housework and laundry etc.

So, speaking of when we move - we are hoping to close on the house on Monday morning. If we don't sign the papers that day and get the keys, we will be in a hotel room for the night!! I will be off line from Sunday night until Wednesday afternoon, when hopefully we will have cable installed at our new home. Until then. . . . .

sounds just lovely to me. I've already vowed that if my girly girl EVER gets bullied, I'm taking her out of school and home schooling her instead. I hope it never happens as she loves school, but I like that I have a back up plan.

Good luck with the house. Hope it all goes as it should.

Even though mine is loving the whole school in pjs thing too it has definitely been a huge adjustment for me. I went from having free days to clean and go to spending my days sitting at the computer helping with lessons too. GOOD LUCK to both of you!

Hi sweets,
Thank you so much for your very sweet get well snail mail letter which arrived yesterday. What a lovely surprise...you made my day!

So many changes happening for you. I hope you were able to close on your new home on time. How long will you have to rough it without your furniture and household goods? Hopefully not too long, but it can be fun camping...we have done it, but only for one day and night before the removalist's truck arrived. Boy were we happy to see our stuff.

It sounds like you and Kiki are very busy with homeschooling. I know she will look back and treasure this time spend daily with you...it's all about the memories.

Let me know your new addy once you're all moved in so I can update my address card. Silly me, as soon as your letter arrived yesterday thought I would grab a new card and write your new address off the envelope, only to find it's the rental address, so it's out of date already.

Thanks again ever so much for your prayers and I am so thankful for such wonderful caring friends...such treasures. I'm doing much better thankfully although my right ear has been more painful today so I'm hoping I don't have to go back to the doctor for stronger antibiotics again. I pray not.

Thanks for being such a sweet and treasured friend. xooxoxo

Brooke forwarded on your sweet note...my e-mail addy is luv2draw@bigpond.com So do you have a new one now that you've moved?

I will certainly pray for Brenda tomorrow and I really hope that all will go well and her hearing will improve.

Great...you've moved in. I'm sure your head is filled with all the things you plan to do to add your own touches. The house looks gorgeous, so happy for you. oxxo
