Happy September everyone, can you believe it’s here already :-)
It’s 80 degrees outside and forecast to be 100 today, but I am staying indoors, and I have lit my ‘Harvest’ Yankee Candle. . . the house smells like Autumn.
I’ve had enough of the heat, I really have. I wanted to go walking this morning but it was already hot and humid by the time I got back from taking Kristen to school, which was only 7.30am! I put a ‘walk away the pounds’ dvd in instead. Hopefully soon I can get out each morning and enjoy cool morning walks – but not today!
Today I will stay home, stay cool and remember that it’s September 1st. . . soon Fall will be here, soon the mornings will be crisp and cool and summer will be but a distant memory.
Not much going on around here so I thought I would reminisce about Fall days gone by and look forward to another new season coming our way. . . .
One of the things I miss most about the East Coast is the falling leaves in Autumn
This is the house we rented before we moved to Texas. Kristen was 3 years old, and what fun we’d have in the afternoons sweeping and playing in the leaves,
She loved when I threw them up in the air!
We don’t get that many leaves around here. Not surprising, because we don’t have that many trees! I miss the crunch of them under your feet. I have some other great ‘leaf’ photos that I want to share with you but I’ll leave them for another day.
Hope you all enjoy the first day of September. Is it cool where you are or still hot?
Denise

Still mid-summer in Charleston..but I also started lighting my Harvest candle!
Still hot. . . but I sure am looking forward to cooler days on the way!! Love the pics of little Kristen!
still hot. Earl is coming so it should cool things off by Friday!
Seeing those pictures makes me realize that fall will be here soon. I am truly ready for it, 100 degrees here today too....but dread the winter. I'm usually okay up until Jan/Feb timeframe then I am going bonkers. :)
Loved seeing Kristin enjoying the leaves.
Hope your having a wonderful day.
Hugs,
Cindy
I'll make sure that I post some great fall leaves photos for you. Some of the best pictures that I have of my girls are when they were little playing in piles of leaves. Carla
Cute...I love the crunch too, I still purposely walk through them every chance I get! :D
I can see why you would miss the leaves...I would, too!
Sorry about the high temps. You can break into a sweat sitting still. We finally got some rain today and it is in the 80's after a real heat spell. Hope it stays like this!! :-)

I could not be without the crunching leaves of autumn!
hope it cools down for you soon. x
I have never lived in a place that didn't have four seasons. I know I'd miss the fall...it's my absolute favorite. I'm on the East Coast and it's hot and humid and going to be in the 90s today too though so you're not missing much today!
Lovely crunchy leaves, I'd miss them too! I saw your comment on Jenny Flip Flop's blog so popped in to say hello as I'm also English but living in the US (since 1994). In Michigan we've had quite a hot and humid summer, lots of 90F+ days and no rain in August, but we'll be cooling down wonderfully by this weekend so I'm looking forward to that. I love the autumn too it's my favourite time of year, I'm just not so keen on what comes next!
Hugs

Cute autumn leave photos. I like the exercise DVD's. Do you have any malls you can walk in nearby? That's what Joan does. I loke the levels in our house but people keep telling us when we're old and can't get around we won't like them. :D My mom was 90 and she managed them okay. Enjoy the long weekend ahead! (((Hugz)))
Ah! The autumn leaves are pretty Denise. How cute is Kristen playing in them.
We are prepping for the hurricane today. It should pass us by just a hair and be hitting the Outer Banks of North Carolina and then moving up. My payers are with all who may be affected tonight.
Blessings, ~Melissa
Fall is my favourite season too especially in Ontario - the colours are so vibrant - I LOVE cool crisp days, I LOVE thanksgiving, I LOVE wearing fall colours - ahhh Bless the Lord for fall :D
Hi Denise;
Living in upstate New York, the autumn with all it's gorgeous color is truly wonderful to behold. I think that's why I could never consider living any other place but the Northeast. Love the photos of your Kristen and the leaves. Have a lovely holiday weekend. :)
So cute.
It is funny because I hate the leaves:) We lived in a house in Georgia that had a backyard that backed up to the woods and when the winter came, it was dead and depressing. I also didn't like them always in the garage. We lived next to a house on a hill and their leaves always found their way into my garage. I do not miss the leaves:)
Fall is coming. Don't you worry.
