Did this week fly by as fast for you? I can’t believe it’s Friday already, it seems to have been a busy one . . .
Good news first though, my Mam is out of hospital :-) She went home on Wednesday. The gallstone pain is under control once again and it’s now a matter of trying to keep it that way through diet and pain meds (when needed). I talked to Mam yesterday and she had actually been out with Brenda to do a little shopping, and she sounded really good. Usually when she has just come home from hospital she is so weak she can hardly talk to me, but that is often when she’s had a few weeks in the place! I’m just so happy she’s out of there, and hopefully she’ll stay out until well past Christmas.
So this week I tried to take a few more pictures around the house, I finally got a better (not so blurry) picture of the tree, but not sure what’s going on with the colors in this, it looks like there’s lime green in there, and there isn’t! And do you notice something? The top of the tree lights have gone out – arghhhhh, I can’t stand it! I will have to go buy a small set to drape around, or it will drive me crazy for the next few weeks. I’m about done with this tree, half of the lights were out when I put it up so it already has extra ones draped around :(
A better picture of the ladder and elves I mentioned!
I made a Santa tassel to put on the tv/entertainment center instead of the cross tassel that I had on there (which didn’t go with anything at all because it’s brown and pink!)
I didn’t have any coordinating ribbon for Santa so he just got tassels, fringe and the fluffly white trim that I also used on the cross.
Another view of the living room (Jason’s new toy on the tv tray has to be put away! it’s a steering wheel for the ps3 so he can play Grand Turismo, or whatever that game is called!)
So, today I have to go to the post office YET again, I just take packages then when I come home I see that someone else has ordered from my Etsy store! Not that I’m complaining though, my store has been doing really well lately so I must get more stuff knitted and teacups listed in the new year. It’s certainly a lot of fun, and very exciting when you see you have a sale :-) Today I’m mailing a hand knitted cowl to Belgium!!
Kristen is staying home from school today, her throat is red and sore :-( I hope it’s just a mild thing and nothing bad like strep. Jason is working from home today so the house is full!
Tonight Cheryl and I are having a little ‘Christmas Social’ at her house so stay tuned for more yummy cocktail recipes!
Have a great weekend.
Denise

Wonderful news. So happy for your family. Your tassels are amazing. I'd love to learn how to do them. I'm still poking around your blog and from the looks of things I'm going to fine a lot of treasures.

My favorite thing is the elves going up the tree. That is so cute:)
You have really gone all out for Christmas and I know that Kristen loves it.
Hope you had fun at your party. Have a good Sunday.
I'm so glad your mam is out and sounding good. That must be a relief for all of you :o)
your home is looking oh so festive, but don't get me started on stupid fairy lights and the stupid ones that go stupid out! Grr. I am FED UP of having to try and fiddle with lights, or take them down and replace, only to have the same thing happen with the replacements. I'm leaving all lights now, as I've had enough!
Thanks for your comment. My mum always hated Sundays before sunday trading, she found them boring. But I like the family aspect and cooking a big meal. It's so cosy and nice, and I'm proud of my yorkshires! I even cooked and froze some. I'm going to try them out today, they should need reheating for about 4 or 5 minutes, so I'm keen to see if they still taste as good. If they do, I'll do this more often and never buy ready made ones again!
YOu should surprise your family this Christmas and make some for lunch, they might love them!
Time I was off. Have a good start to the week. Oh, and keep meaning to say, I'm so glad you are doing well with Etsy. xxx
Wonderful news, I'm so glad your Mam is doing better and out of the hospital!! =)
I love your home and those elves are too cute. What a great idea!
XOXO ~Liz
