I'm Ready. . .

I am SO ready to decorate for Christmas, but hubby keeps poo-poohing the idea!! Yesterday I bought this little guy from Ross. He's not that little, actually he's just under 3ft tall :-)

I stood him half way up the stairs, and when Jason came home from work he said "bah humbug - there shall not be Santa's in my house before December!" Hmmm, well I have other plans, so he better get used to Mr. Santa ;-)  I'm not hosting Thanksgiving this year, we'll be going to my inlaws for dinner, so I think I will get my decorations out during the week we are off school!

While I'm feeling all 'Christmasy' (it's really cold out today, I feel like lighting my candles and playing holiday music!) I thought I'd share a few pictures I have in my Christmas folder on Pinterest.  If you go to my Pinterest page HERE, it will give you the source of the pictures.

I would love to make one of these pretty flower arrangements this year!

I love how bright this staircase looks, and love the ice skates hanging up.

This is the lovely Becca's Christmas mantel - LOVE it. I have a picture of her bedroom all decked out for the holidays that I absolutely love - need to add it to my Pinterest. You can CLICK HERE to see Becca's gorgeous Christmas Home Tour from last year.

OK, I found it (and pinned it), here's Liz's gorgeous bedroom. I think she's redecorated since then, but I love the color scheme she had in there, it totally went with all the Christmas decor.

I need me some Christmas pillows for the sofa!

So, fess up! Have you started decorating yet? I know Liz has (not that Liz (above), I mean this Liz from SAVVY SEASONS :-)  I'm rather jealous that she's already got her tree up!

Hi Denise! I recognize that lumbar pillow with Santa's sleigh from Pottery Barn. I love the bells on the end. I was hoping to get it on sale last year after the holidays but they sold out before Christmas. That's a cute idea for a vase with the candycanes. Christmas is so much work so it's hard to wait until December or you'll feel too rushed. Your Santa is cute! (((Hugz)))

I love your Santa! He's a perfect way to get the hint across to Hubs that you want to decorate NOW!!

I have to admit that I want to start earlier this year. Last year was pretty dismal with my father passing away so close to Christmas. We got a very late start and I didn't put everything out. And of course it never looks good or feels fun after the 1st of the year. So...I think I'm on the same page as you!

XO,
Jane

I love Christmas time, and decorating. My husband and I went out yesterday and starting picking up a few items in preparation. I was ready to put them up now, but he keeps telling me it's too early! Thanks for sharing some of these cute ideas! :) Look forward to seeing more!

I was just over at Liz (from Savvy Seasons) and saw her decorations that are up so far. Man does she do an amazing job!!

And now coming to you blog and seeing everything you posted...well, all of it's just got me into the Christmas spirit for sure! I can't wait to decorate :)

It's hard to believe that we will be decorating for Christmas soon. Thanks for sharing such inspiring photos! Carla

hmm. you don't really need to me to answer that do you?!

Well, I say that, but I've only got my outdoor lights up. I really do think that's important, because it gets it out of the way and is all ready for The Big Switch On when it suits me. Plus I love that smug feeling when I see other people up ladders on frosty days. ha ha ha! I am mean.

But Christmas inside can wait until December. I'm in no rush for that. I'll start with fairy lights - am itching to put them up on the bannisters already, it looks so pretty for Halloween - but trees, ornaments, well, I'll leave it for a while longer. I've also taken to making it simpler and colours muted, which I like now. I'm all about the pastel colours, vintage style, pink tutus and pointe shoes. It's my 'vintage nutcracker' style and I'm sticking to it.

Yesterday when I was posting on CR about lights, I was looking through my December posts of last year and saw the mantelpiece with the white 'NOEL' sign, and I very nearly went and got them to change over from my HOME letters. But I will resist. It'll soon be December.

Love the candy cane arrangement. Should be pretty easy to recreate that, just put doubles sided tape on jam jar, attach the canes, tie with ribbon and it's done. Nice and simple.

Why not let yourself get things ready instead. Check the lights, get your decorations in order, enjoy your hot chocolate and Christmas music and generally sort things out. That way you'll still get your Christmas Fix and Scrooge, sorry, Jason won't be to Bah Humbug about it! ;o)

enjoy your Thursday.

Liz is amazing right? I am anxious too, but holding off as long as I can. If I start too early then I want to rip it all down before New years. Love the staircase.

I am kind of ready, which surprises me, as usually I am a December 1st kind of girl. But since we leave ours up to Epiphany, two months of Christmas is entirely too much!

Hey Denise I'm ready too! I had to skip decorating for the holidys last year since Alex was out of town training for most of November and December. Your little guy from Ross is adorable.

I think that is Becca's home mantle and bedroom right? It's beautiful. :)

You Santa is cute! I am feeling like you are. Eager to get out the decorations :) I am worse than a child I think. I almost encouraged my kids to watch a Christmas movie the other day. I did refrain once the moment of insanity had passed! lol
I love the ideas you posted. I especially like the staircase!
Your wrapping for your knitted gifts is so lovely. I love the idea of tying them with yarn :)
Have a great weekend lass xx

Hi Denise, I am starting to think Christmas too. I will probably wait until the 20th, after Eddie's party to decorate. I want to enjoy my scarecrows a bit longer. I have been playing with my pin board and enjoying it. Have a nice weekend! Hugs

Hi Denise,
Oh that Santa is so cute!!!
I love all the photos you shared today. The candy cane vase is adorable, I might have to try that one myself. :-)

I don't put up Christmas decoration till December. I enjoy the fall/harvest/Thanksgiving decorations till Thanksgiving.
But everyone has their own ideas about it. :-)

Have a lovely weekend.
