More from the Shrek Cookbook . . . . this time with Mr. Gingerbread Man! Kristen wanted to make cookies yesterday so we gave these little guys a try. Pretty simple instructions, you just melt butter, brown sugar and syrup or honey (I had to use honey as I didn't have the golden syrup) in a pan, then let cool. Then you simply add that to dry ingredients of flour, baking soda and ginger and add in one egg too.

Then you put the dough in the fridge for half an hour. Connor was over playing with Kristen when we got started with these, so they went off to play for 30 minutes again until it was time to roll out the dough. They both took turns rolling out and I did some too of course (or we'd have been there all day!)

Once I got the cookie cutters out they didn't just want gingerbread men. So as you can see, we have doggy bones, rabbits and a Christmas tree too!

Look at these too cuties - don't they look super proud of their handiwork :-) They had a fun time, and the cookies were rather yummy.

My friend Julie mentioned on her blog yesterday about a magazine she just saw (and bought) called Clean Eating! What is Clean Eating? Here's what is says on their website. . .
'consuming food in it's most natural state - or as close as possible to it - is the soul of clean eating'. It's not a diet; it's a lifestyle approach to food and it's preparation. leading to health, well-being and a lean look. Check out the website
HERE for more info and recipes and a free 7 day eating plan. I'll definitely be talking about this more.

Hey D! I FINALLY got out of my "funk" and back into the blogging world and my first stop is here! I'm getting so excited about seeing you again! Only a few more weeks. You'll need to email me your address again and phone number. I think I have your address but will need to check on the #!
Your cookies looked yummy! I've been home all week practically and loving it! I'm such a homebody... when I'm actually at home - hee hee.
Enjoy your day at home!
Love you xo
hello!
am online late (for me, just after 9 p.m! rebel!), but had to stop by and leave a note. Glad I did, the gingerbread men/shapes are fab!
thank you so much for your email, it made me laugh! But, sadly, I must ask you if you will be my eyes, as what I was trying to avoid has happened. I wanted to get online and remove that photo earlier on, but just couldn't, I was so busy offline with the girl. And now, I fear my idea is going to be stolen/re worked :O( makes me so angry. person in question has gone through the whole week (no comment of course), so I have an awful feeling the idea is poised to be pilfered. Now I wish I'd never shown it, and that's just not right is it? I should be able to share things with friends.
will email with more details.
*sigh*
ok. must go,want to fly off a quick email to you, do a visit or two and then get to bed. feeling very tired tonight. Have a lovely day, lots of love to you xxxx
The picture of Connor and Kiki says it all. A memory that will have forever! I think the only way I can get cleaning eating is to wire my jaw just and judt drink water. :)
Hi Denise! The GB (and friends) cookies turned out great! Bet Connor loves coming to play. You could make Boo dog biscuits with that cutter. :) Yes, I agree the clock is ticking for Jason and Syesha. Paula sure put her foot in it, didn't she? They're talking about whether she's competent to judge now. (((Hugz)))
Denise,
Emily would go 'wild' for the gingerbread men! She so loves them. What cute pics you shared - Kristen is such a cutie!
I've heard about the clean eating...I've heard it gets 'very' boring though if you really stay true to it. Of course, people would be so much healthier.
Have a great evening! Hugs!
