Another post for today....

I just remembered I told my sister that I would post the picture of us 3 from Cheryl's (surprise) 40th birthday party. She doesn't use Facebook so she hasn't seen this yet! So here it is. This was taken at their friends house where the party was hosted. . . Cheryl hadn't turned up yet!

I still have all my photos 'stuck' on my camera so until I get them transferred to my puter here's a couple more that I took from Cheryl's sister's FB page ;-)

As you can see it was a Luau theme. I went over in the afternoon to help set up the decorations and set the tables. I have a lot more pictures of the tables where you can see the flowers and shells we put out, they looked so pretty.

Apparently Cheryl isn't a great fan of cake, but she loves her Mom's homemade cherry pie! So that is what they brought out for her when it was time to 'blow out the candle's :-)

More yummy desserts were set up inside.

I'm linking up to Outdoor Wednesday at a A Southern DayDreamer. Head on over to see more great outdoor posts.

Looks like a fun party and you all look cute in your Hawaiian outfits. I'd prefer a pie to a cake, too, and is that a British trifle I spy on the table? (((Hugz)))

thanks for your email. Ah, no, not what I'd call a proper trifle then!

No, I don't use the live writer thing, and to be totally honest, I've no idea what it is. I'll have to investigate. There is still so much I don't know about computers and blogging. I always edit my photos, that's when I add text.

The dress. Well, I never take really clear photos of myself, because I hate the way I photograph. Plus the pattern is pretty fussy, and it's been really dark today so it's made it hard to get a clear pic. I tweet links when I get new things, but you can copy and paste this to have a proper look. http://direct.asda.com/george/women-s-clothing/dresses/leaf-print-shift-dress/GEM46297,default,pd.html

Raining again now - actually thundering too! - and I'm going to have to put lights on. It's not even 5! I love it, and yes, you are right. at this time of year summer seems to slip away quickly. I know we've still got a blast of sun to come, but on the whole it's cooler and the sunny days are less frequent. suits me fine!

Eggnog. Can't say I've seen it for sale here, but I don't think it would be my thing. I don't really like cream so if it's a creamy drink then - eeks!- I'll pass, and stick to the candle! ;o) x

Hi Denise;

Great photos of the party. You all look wonderful in your Hawaiian outfits. That's a great idea having a luau theme. The homemade cherry pie looks delicious and I bet it was. Have a lovely weekend. ;-}

hello!

well, I was the 'site around the corner' at one point, but that was when Geocities went bonkers and just deleted entire sites for no apparent reason.
There is a blog with that name (I checked before!), but the person hasn't updated for 5 years! Wish they'd delete the blog so I could snaffle the name in a year or so!

yes, Lloyd Grossman did present Masterchef years and years ago. Then it had a slight revamp and Gary Rhodes took over. It wasn't very good it has to be said, so they revamped it again and John and Gregg took over. They called it 'Masterchef Goes Large', but thankfully they've dropped the 'goes large' bit, because it was a bit naff!

Didn't realise it had already started. I saw the '27' on the ad, and thought it meant the 27th august. I can't get used to the American way of writing dates, so to stop my brain getting confused I just look at where the actual date will be - if you see what I mean. Anyway. I just hope Gordon does it justice.

Even though I am rubbing it in (!) I thought I'd show the rain piccies just for you. I knew you'd enjoy it. It's just gone really dark again, and is starting to pour with rain. Beautiful day.

have a lovely weekend xx
