I still don't have anything to blog about really, but I thought I'd make a quick post as it might be a day or too again before I write anything else. We have no school tomorrow which I'm really happy about. Getting up at 6am every day just seems to wear me out! I'm ready to have a rest by the weekend, so a day earlier is even nicer. Kristen and I are planning on going over to her friend's house so they can play and I can catch up with her mom, Brandi. We see each other for just a couple of minutes each day to pick up the kids, but haven't gotten together for a while to have a nice chat. I'm gonna stop at the grocery store and pick up some sushi for us for lunch. The kids will probably have chicken nuggets, I know for sure Kristen would not even want to 'sniff' at the sushi!
Oh, about that soil. . . . . . we got the results back last weekend. But let me tell you first, that my genius of a husband had already figured out the problem :-) He was out there looking around at the beds, which as you've seen from the photos, half are still filled with dead weeds etc. What he noticed was, there were actually 'live' weeds growing in some areas. And it seemed that where the weeds were growing was in the same spot he'd planted pinto beans.
He then went and looked up some info on pinto beans, and found out that they actually put nitrogen in to the soil. Jason figured out that the organic soil must be low on nitrogen so he went to the store and bought some Organic Bone Meal to add to it. Later that day the mail came and the results for the soil. . . . and yes! that is exactly what it said too “very low in nitrogen”. So now we’ve added the nitrogen and we’ve planted a few more plants but I don’t know how long it will take for us to see if things are going well. So far it’s hard to say, but it’s only been a few days.

You're alive!!! lol I've been checking in to see if you've posted. The days just fly by when you just have those few precious hours don't they? It is sunny here today too and supposed to be nice again tomorrow and then more rain for the weekend :( Not as bad as back home though. My Mam just told me they've had sun, rain and hail today and it's forecast for snow tomorrow! Gold old english weather.
Ha ha! Julie and I thought you were still out on the porch with your strawberries and bubbly! ;) Glad you know what's wrong with your soil now and hopefully adding nitrogen will do the trick. Glad you'll have a nice weekend for the birthday celebration! (((Hugz)))
hello! I've sent you a couple of emails today, apologies for rattling on, but I wanted to show you exactly what I have been griping about! ;o)
nice to see a post from you again. :O)
hope the nitrogen will sort out the soil, it would have been a shame to have to dig the lot up and chuck it. Well done to Jason for working it out.
Had fab weather today. It's been bright and sunny, then clouded over so dark I've had to put lights on, a flash of lightning, a rumble of thunder, heavy rain, rain and sun, hailstones, and rainbows! We have had the lot. Humbug loved watching the rain thrashing against the patio doors.
well, time Humbug was dunked in the bath. Have a lovely Friday, and a relaxing weekend. xxxx
Hi Denise! I'm sorry your DVR didn't record Idol. We have Time Warner. too. You could see Michael was really stunned and the audience gasped and booed. I don't think he would've won but he was one I always looked forward to hearing (and seeing!) ;) Enjoy the weekend! (((Hugz)))
Good on Jason...he figured out the soil issue before it was confirmed. Live and learn.
From Darylynn's comments, you missed seeing Michael voted off Idol. We don't get the results and see that show until Sunday this week because of the extra "Idol gives back" show. I did see it on our news here, and our "Current Affairs" shows ran with it too. I didn't think he would win, but there were others I thought would go before him. His disadvantage was, we get Idol here on Fox, but were not able to vote, so he missed out on all the aussie support because of how they set up the voting.
Hope you have a great weekend. xx
Hi Denise, so glad you found out what was wrong with the soil. Love your spot on the balcony. Would love to have some like that outside to go and sit and enjoy. We got quite a bit of rain. I hope you didn't, but Texas was hit too. Thinking of you! ~hugs~
So nice to hear from you! I have missed you, Kristen, and Boo too! We are all fine here and waiting for next Saturday to get here so we can leave for a few days at the beach! It's real cool here this morning...what happened to Spring? (((hugs)))
Hi Denise!! I am glad you guys got the soil figured out.
Your flowers looks so pretty. It is still a bit too cold here just yet. My tulips are about to bloom though and the crocus have already bloomed along with the daffodils. There is a little color I guess.
Have a nice weekend. ((BIG HUGS))!!
Hi Denise!
I finally updated and posted, it's been over a month! lol
I have missed you and it is so nice catching up again.
Enjoy your weekend sweetie.

Hi Denise,
hope you've had a great weekend, and maybe another opportunity to relax on your balcony. I'm sure it's beautiful there in Austin this time of year. Boo hoo...we still have rain! ((((huggles))))
Hey Niecey girl!!
I was gonna come by and share the new URL with you, but you found it already! Yep, I just recently decided to do a bit of journaling again, not putting pressure on myself to do it daily, but when I feel something on my mind to say or share, I will.
The blogger is much easier than my old journal on my site where I handcoded everything every day. That's just too time-consuming anymore.
Interesting, what you said about the photos and the ability to click them. I never noticed it was on those I had moved around a bit after uploading but I did notice this thing is a bit contrary about moving pics around within a post. It can be tricky to get them where you want them, on here.
Mmmm, I'll have to pay attention and see if that's it. There didn't seem to be any real rhyme or reason for why some were clickable and others were not.
Well, it's good to be catching up with you again - it looks like you have moved again? Are you still selling real estate?
I'll see you again soon!
Big Hugs to you..
