Now, on to a fun picture. . . . what does a little girl do when she's never seen a front loading washing machine?
Sit mesmerized of course!!!

See that bit of blue sky? Yeah, it didn't last long. Most days you're running out there an hour later dashing to get your washing back in before it gets drenched. I seriously don't know how they manage without a dryer (I am certainly spoiled) but then my nephew's wife told me the same thing! She has two young children and a dryer is a MUST have for her. Luckily she has the room for one. My sister doesn't, but then there is only herself and hubby living at home now so I guess they can manage just fine :-) And truth be told, when I did live in England I didn't have a dryer either and thought nothing of hanging my washing out or hanging it on the radiators to dry if it was raining. It's all about what you get used to I guess.
Yesterday Kristen had piano lesson in the morning then we went to the grocery store to get things in for dinner. I've made a menu so I know what we're eating all this week. My attempt at getting somewhat organized ;-) I'm starting to think about how to plan my weeks once Kristen is back in school. I need to start getting back to the gym. It's something I failed miserably at during the summer, only managing to go about half a dozen times, if that! I plan on going every Monday, Wednesday and Friday after dropping off Kristen, so I'm changing my grocery day from Monday to Tuesday. That way I won't feel tempted to skip the gym and get straight to the store, which is something I used to feel like doing and a few times gave in to. Instead I'll come home from the gym and make Monday's my main cleaning day around the house.
I'm rather looking forward to getting back in to a good schedule. I know I'll miss not having Kristen around, I've been so used to our lazy relaxing mornings over the summer but know they must come to an end at some point. I'm rather looking forward to the Fall, and cooler weather - speaking of which, yesterday and today was very cool compared to most days. It was only 82-85 degrees. And today we had a huge downpour and some thunder. I think the rest of the weeks is forecast for similar. Getting back to school is a lot like January 1st for me. . . . a new start so to speak! I almost feel like making some new resolutions, but I won't. I will start however making lists and thinking of getting more organized :-) And I will start thinking of Christmas soon too!!

Hi again! I'm really catching up aren't I? hee hee
How funny that Kiki was so taken with that washer. When I first saw the picture I was thinking to myself... "That doesn't look like D's laundry room" lol
I'm glad your Mam is feeling some better. I will pray for her full & speedy recovery!
I think we are getting "English" weather this summer. We have been like what you were describing... sun then rain then sun then rain (all in a few hours). Crazy!
Have a great rest of your week & I'll see you on the Scrabble board. I'll have to start us a new game since we can't seem to get Julie in on our games :-(
Love ya xo
Hi Denise,
I am glad that your mam (?) is doing a lot better. PTL (You know in Canada, they say "mum" rather than mam or mom) I agreed about September bring another start. At the beginning of summer we think about things we can do too during the summer, then fall, and then New Years. I can't think of a "start" for spring, can you? I guess we could come up with one :-) Have a good day. HUGS
Hi sweets,
Just dropping by to check on how Mam is doing. She's stable...phew, and the antibiotics are working so that's good news too. I'm sure she's enjoying all the extra tlc and good rest, so hopefully she'll have a spring in her step in no time. I'll keep checking.
Sue did try and start a scrabble game this morning but I got a message saying that it's only available to US and Canadian citizens...booohooo so unfortunately I can't join you both again yet....I say yet, as I am determined to find a way. *wink* It was a great way to enjoy my morning coffee, sip away and have my turns hmmm...major bummer I say.
I always hang our washing out on the line, but not in winter. I just don't have the time to be dashing in and out turning washing around to try and get it dry faster. I actually don't mind hanging it out especially in summer, although then I put it on to dry overnight so it won't fade and go all starchy from the sun. I don't have a fancy front loading washing machine though, mine is a top loader and quite big since there are 4 adults here, so I was every day to keep on top of it.
That will be nice for you to get into a rountine with gym etc once school goes back. For me it seems so different starting a new school year more than half way through the year. Our school year has always started after the school holidays in January and ending in December with 4 school terms. I'm going to have to get used to it all though, since Dan of course will attend school according to your school year there. Their new church has a preschool, so hopefully he can go there too. He'll be 3 in November....what happened to my baby boy!
Enjoy your day sweets. I need to get blog hopping. xx
Answered prayers your Mam is doing better. Ihang my clothes every chance I get. The boys do complain about rough towels... Have a good day. Maybe you could publish your menu and give some of us ideas. I wish I could be organized.
Hi! glad your Mam is doing ok. Hope she is better soon. I 'm like you about the 1st day of school being like Jan. 1st. All new! I still hang my clothes out as much as possible. Even in the winter if it is going to be nice enough! I don't like using the dryer unless I have to. Something strange about me! Have a great day. Hugs
Hi Denise, so sorry to hear about your Mam being sick with pneumonia, but so glad she is recovering and will soon be home. Love the pictures and cute the way Kristen is awed by the washer. I remember not having a dryer, but you do need one if you have children, lol. It's been years since I've hung laundry on a line. Love and ~hugs~ my friend
Hi Denise! I feel the same way about getting back into a routine! I still hang my good clothes over the rail of the stairway to dry. They don't shrink that way and stay looking new longer. ((BIG HUGS))
hello.
glad your Mam is doing ok. I hope she'll be out soon.
Of course, most washing machines in the US are top loading aren't they? I forget about that. I don't have a dryer, and I don't want one. I admit it can be tricky at times, especially in the winter, but like you say, it's what you are used to. My neighbours must think I am totally doolalley. When I hang my washing out, I often go out a couple of hours later, take it in, iron it, put it on hangers then take it back outside again. Just makes things so much easier for me to be able to bring it in ironed so I can shove it in the airing cupboard. (I am a total saddo, who spent ages one day about 6 years ago, screwing in cup hooks under the bottom shelf in the airing cubpoard so I could hang stuff up without it falling off. tragic. but very useful!).
Time I was off. Just doing a quick catch up whilst waiting for my washing to finish. I am laundy obsessed! ha ha ha. xxxxx
I will definitely be praying for your mom. I am sure it is difficult being so far away. I will pray for peace that surpasses all understanding for you!!
