As I mentioned last week, my main 'resolution' for this year (I don't make many cos they just get broken) is to get back on track with eating healthy, exercising and losing those extra 12 pounds I gained last year! I'm happy to say I'm off to a good start. I tried to start last Friday and did well that day but I must confess I lapsed a bit on Saturday and Sunday because I told myself Monday was a better day to start! I still had a nice healthy dinner on Saturday with baked tilapia and sauted swiss chard, but on Sunday I let myself eat some of the chocolates that are still lying around and I had 2 glasses of wine that night! I'm not going to beat myself up about it, but I'm making more of an effort this week to cut out the candy and no wine til the weekend.
I've made myself a new blog so I can track my progress and hopefully keep myself motivated. You can check it out if you like. I called it 'The Healthy Den' :-) Goes along with my theme of 'Dens'. I won't talk about it all the time in here but I've put a link on my left sidebar if you want to follow it or just check it out now and then. I'm still working on graphics and links, so bear with me.
Today I want to share with you what I made for dinner last night. I'll be linking up to 'Tempt My Tummy Tuesday and Tasty Tuesday.
The recipe is for Oven Fried Chicken. I can't take credit for the recipe, I found it at Heather's wonderful blog and she shows a video of how to make it on Youtube HERE
It's a similar recipe to what I've done before, simply using panko crumbs and baking the chicken instead of frying it, but Heather's recipe uses crushed cornflakes as well....

I have to get the recipe, Den...I love using Panko crumbs and Shake & Bake has too much salt.
You are right not to beat yourself up over some chocolates. I have read that if you completely deprive yourself, you are more inclined to binge.
Now, I was a bad girl. Since I don't have a large supply of food at our Lakehouse, I tend to eat some of the junk my husband brings home. Once I had the ice cream and fish & chips, I gave up and totally ate bad stuff. So now I am back on track. Don't know about WW but do follow a low carb. low cal, small portions regimen.
Have a wonderful week! :-)

Hi Den. What a great idea for keeping track of your progress and helping others at the same time! I'm glad to hear that someone is following thru so far with their resolution. I'm unfortunately battling an infection, so will be a few more days before I can start. But, look out world when I do! lol. Take care and have a good and healthy week.
Sounds delish Denise! :)
Have I told how many roasted whole chickens we have made since you shared that amazing recipe? Yum! They are soooo good and my hubby loves them. Thank you!
Good luck on your weightloss journey. I know that it can be so hard. My husband worked out and ate smaller portions for 6 months and lost 20 lbs. Then we went on vacation:( He has since gained most of it back. He said that he was going to try and lose it again. Good luck. It looks like you started the week off right. Oh yeah, and don't eat during The Biggest Loser tonight:) I will try not to if you do. LOL
Hey!
I saw your comment on my FB about me being blocked - tried to send you a message but I don't think it showed up on your page so I must really be blocked. : / I would try going to "settings" on the upper right of your FB homepage, then click on "privacy settings" and there are some things you can click on there, to block (and hopefully UNblock) people. Let me know when you can see me again! I leave you messages fairly regularly - didn't know you couldn't see them. : (
Hugs
Lynn
Looks good. I need to try the Panko. Thanks for linking to TMTT.
That looks like something we would love, I will have to give it a try. Hugs, Diane
well done sticking to your resolve. :O)
Glad you got your handbag back, what a total nightmare. When Bill and I went to Scotland, I couldn't find my purse - the one you keep money in - I searched everywhere, but assumed I'd left it at home. I had a lovely time, but every now and then I'd feel gloomy about my missing purse. The stupid thing was, that once we'd driven back home again, I looked on the floor of the car (where I had already searched) and there it was! Was so relieved.
Have a lovely day, we have thick and heavy snow falling today. Gorgeous. But then I'm cosily at home with gorgeous girl, so I can enjoy it! xx
