Shape up....

it starts today... yes, my new year resolution is to get back to eating healthy and start 'moving' more! So today, no chocolate, no junk food.... I need to clear up all the Christmas stuff, and that includes the foods and sweets all over the kitchen table. I don't know what I'm going to do with it, but one thing for sure, I won't be eating it!

Yesterday I went out and bought myself a pair of Shape-ups! I wanted some motivation to get back to walking, so I thought this would do it. They come with a dvd that I haven't had a chance to watch yet, but I'll do that today and at some point I'll be trying them out and having a quick brisk walk around the neighborhood.

First though, I have to take down the Christmas decorations, and clean up a messy kitchen. I seriously don't know how it gets so messy, but usually it happens when the dishwasher is full of clean dishes (that I haven't had a chance to unload) and the sink starts filling up with dirty ones.

We had fun at our neighbors last night, stayed up til after midnight, but then Kristen got really sleepy so we came home at 12.30am. I was using my new camera but still trying to get used to it, so unfortunately a lot of the pictures are blurry:( I'll try to post a few later today. Right now I need to jump off here and go clean house!

Hope you all have a great first day of 2010.

Hi, Denise. We are just back from New Year's Day brunch at friends and I feel the same way. I need to get back to healthy eating and more exercise. Didn't walk yesterday and haven't been on a walk today. I need to start the process of taking down all the decorations and packing things away. That's next on my list, but first I wanted to visit a few friends in Blogville.

Happy New Year!

I plan on continuing to improve on my health, exercise and eating habits this year, but am being honest with myself and planning on starting it full force Monday. We have too many fun christmas goodies around here still and we're relaxing and having fun. The secret for the holidays for me has been to use moderation.

Hi Denise.

You stopped by my blog and I see that we have a lot in common! I love magazines, reading, and cooking. I am a SAHM and I love Texas. I bet that was a big change from England:) My sil lives in Ft. Worth so we visit out there often. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great year.

Denise, I've been looking at those shoes. . . what do you think? Have you had the chance to walk in them yet? They look like they might be really helpful--I'd love to know what you think about them!

Happy New Year! Every blessing to you and your beautiful family for 2010.

your post spoke to me. Getting healthy and organized in 2010 is my goal! My friend and I were just having a convo about those Sketchers the other day and she went out and bought a pair similar made by Avia. Please let us know how you like them, cause I have planned on getting a pair. Thanks for sharing.
