Happy Friday

Hi everyone, hope you're all having a great start to your weekend! Friday seemed to come fast this week, which is fine by me. I can't believe we only have two more weeks left at school.... but yay, roll on last day of school - I can't wait!

I want to thank you all for your sweet comments in my last post. I was nervous about listing my knitted goods but I shouldn't have been, they are already selling. My thanks to sweet Judy, my first customer and to Richella and Melissa too - you girls are the best :-) So I have to get busy and start knitting more. I will keep you posted when I add to my little shop.

Look what we've been eating this week - green beans are ready :-) This is our second batch from the garden this week. I pick just enough each time for me and Jason. You can't get any fresher than this! I simply boil the green beans and spray a little butter spray on them before I serve them, they are so fresh and tasty. The cucumber beetles are all over the beans now but miraculously they are still producing the beans.

I posted an update to my garden blog earlier this week so HOP ON OVER HERE if you'd like to see what else is going on.

Have a great weekend. I'll be back Sunday with my musings (or that might actually be Monday)!

Hi Denise! Your green beens look great. I am excited about your broccoli. It won't be long now. It grows pretty fast after it starts showing. Have a wonderful weekend! Carla

Yum! The green beans look good.

I'm excited to get my new colorful dish towels Denise! You are very talented. Do you have to knit them first? That is so sweet of you to make such pretty things for us to sell on your new Etsy. I hope it is a huge success.

Blessings, ~Melissa :)

Hi Denise! I would love to have fresh green beans! They look so yummy, & I know it feels good to pick them right from your own garden.

I just ordered your last washcloths from your Etsy shop. My friend's new little baby is going to love them! I'm so glad you have gotten into Etsy Denise. Only problem is, I am afraid you will be so busy knitting, that I won't see you as much.

I don't think I would go for the prune cake either. I know my family wouldn't, if they were to see the 'hidden' ingredient. Loving reading your posts as you go through this cookbook.

Have a wonderful weekend Denise. Sending you big hugs!

I LOVE Green beans. I can eat them raw.. but my favorite is with some olive oil, balsalmic vinegar and toasted a little in the oven..

Enjoy the bounty!

The beans look delicious! My dad has beens from his garden already too.

Have a great weekend. I know that we will chat.

I'm not sure my green beans will produce anything. I've already lost one plant. My cucumber has gone too, I think the frost killed it off last week.

Everything else seems to be doing ok, well, apart from the peas. Slugs/snails/whatever chomped through those. Grr. Potatoes are in, so by August we should be able to dig up our very own spuds. Looking forward to that. All going well, should have aubergines too, they're still indoors at the moment, they seem very slow growing.

Very definintely summer here right now. The sun is blazing and white legs revealed in shorts! (not mine, I hasten to add).

Thank you for your lovely comment. I was just explaining to Elizabeth, that it is a lemon lemonade, but it has the addition of rose water (or something, not totally sure), and the flavour is far more delicate than normal lemonade, which I am not a fan of. Makes tea parties and picnics much prettier too, with the lovely colour.

Time I was off. Scrambled eggs for the troops I think.

have a lovely Sunday xxx

Aren't fresh garden veggies the best? My Fatherinlove brought me some squash freshly picked and I made squash casserole for our Sunday dinner and I am here to tell you that I thought I would need the Almanec to tell me when to quit eating! It was sooo good! Be blessed. cindy
