I scream, you scream. . . .

. . . we all scream for ice cream!!! Of course Kristen didn't actually have to 'scream' for ice cream - I was more than happy to take her to 'Baskin Robbins' to celebrate the 'last day of school' and the first day of summer break :-)

Kristen picked a seasonal ice cream called "America's Birthday Cake" and I had a 'pralines and cream' cone. I'm not a big ice cream eater to be honest but this is probably one of my favorite flavors when I do eat it. I can't remember if we went out for ice cream on this day last year, but it sure is a fun tradition to start and I think we'll be doing it again next year.

After the breakfast party at school that morning I was actually able to sign Kristen out at 9.30am! I told her it was a little too early for ice cream, I didn't even think the place would be open, so we went home for an hour before heading back out to Blockbuster for some movies and games, and then to the ice cream parlor at 11am. There were other kids there that had just gotten out of school, so we weren't the only ones with a 'sweet' idea!

And here's some 'close-ups' for you!

Enjoy your Saturday!

lovely photos. I've been here ages, but kept getting taken out of your diary. I realised that my comment box could be traced by your live feed thingy, which is a bit of a pain. I've deleted all of my comments just to be on the safe side. Am having to step up on my security after a thoughtless moron left a comment on an 'open' diary giving humbugs full name. Am so annoyed about it. The person in question isn't someone I have anything to do with and had no right whatsoever to leave her name, which I suspect was merely to let me know that she'd found it out. So despite being careful not to name my little girl on the net for the past two years (as is any mothers right), thanks to one horrible person (who I have never actually told myself my daughters name) all and sundry now know her name and I am being doubly careful again. Thought all of that was behind me, and given that the twit who named her knew that I'd had all sorts of hassle from weirdos and oddballs in the past, I think it was a particularly nasty thing for her to do. Unforgivable.
Sorry to rant, but it's just annoyed me, just as I suspect it was meant to do. Well done her, hope she can sleep well at nights.

sorry to rant, but it has annoyed me beyond belief. Don't mind in the slightest if someone doesn't like me, but if they drag my child into it, then it's not on.

Ok, must go. Once again, lovely photos. Sorry to rant, but am so angry with this horrible person.

p.s it's still raining here! xxx

Hi sweetie,
Oh yum, I can tell Kiki thoroughly enjoyed her mommy/daughter icecream Now you can have several months break from your early morning routine. That will be nice for you both.

I must ask you, does Kiki have an American accent? I'm just curious since your accent is English and you would be the one she spends the most time with. Since my daughter Melissa has an aussie accent but they will be living there, plus Dan's daddy is American it will be interesting to see if he imitates his mum's accent or his dads since Melissa is with him all day long. He's only saying a few words, so we can't really tell yet but it made me curious about Kiki and her accent.

You have a great day. I'm off to watch some TV in bed. xx
