My Little Graduate!

I didn't get many pictures of Kristen at the graduation today because I was too busy trying to video tape it too for her Daddy to see! Here she is outside the school holding her award!

The kids all get an award for something different, based on what the teacher thinks/sees in them I guess. For instance some got an award for honesty (an ethical principal of the school) or being a great helper or most improved reader etc. Kristen got two awards, one for using ALL ethical principals and the other was for 100% attendance. She has not missed one day of school this whole year :-) Quite a difference to last year when she missed nearly 2 weeks total because of tummy bugs and stuff that were going around.

And here she is with her 1st grade teacher ~ Mrs. Ballesteros. After the awards I went up to her classroom to take this picture and Ms. B (as the kids call her) thought I was going in there to take Kristen home! When Kristen heard this (and there were some other kids leaving right then, it was only 9am at this point) she wanted to leave with me too. I said no, I didn't think she could, but then when I realized that Ms. B had just said it was ok, I thought "why not". I told Kristen to pack her stuff up and you should have seen the smile on her face :-)

So we 'snook out' early and went to the grocery store to get some fruit because I'm taking in fruit kebabs for the breakfast tomorrow. We have one more day to go! Tomorrow is 'last day of school party' which is really just breakfast for all the kids left in class (quite a few have left for vacation already). The kids will be released around 11am, so after that I'm taking Kristen out for ice cream to celebrate the start of our summer holidays. I'll take the camera and try to get more pictures for here (and the scrapbook)!

Hi Denise,
This reminds me of the days when I was home with Kari during the summers. We had so much fun! Congrats to Kristen for the awards!

Kiki is looking sow grown up isn't she. Amazing how much one year makes. She's a beautiful girl. How nice that she got to go home early. So nice for you that summer holidays are almost there...just one more little bit of a day and then school is out for her.

What date are your heading off to England? I know it's July, just can't remember the date. Maybe you could put a little countdown ticker on here so we won't keep bugging you with when.

Good to see you on Facebook. Let me know if you'd like a game of Scrabble on there. It's not like a normal game where you sit for hours, when I play with friends, I usually just do a word and then when the other person feels like it they add theirs. It's usually only works out to be one work each per day or maybe 2, nothing that ties you down or anything. If you'd like to do that, let me know and I'll set it up. It's called Scarbulious and is part of Facebook. It even adds up the scores!

You have a great day. Enjoy your summer break ice-creams. I'm off to get my hair cut! I'm a tad nervous since it tok so long to grow it, but I'm ready for a change.

Oh boy....sorry about my mistake above. I meant to say "Kiki is looking SO grown up"...not the other sow or sew!

morning! Gosh, the end of school sounds so much fun. I hope it's more like here nowadays, I have no idea.

Actually, I'm getting pretty narked with people (read family members and total strangers) who keep asking me about humbug starting playschool. All I know is most places like little 'uns to be able to go to the toilet before they start, and as humbug isn't potty trained yet, there is no rush. When people keep asking me, I'm getting snappy and saying 'I don't know'! Urgghh! Why can't they just let me enjoy her a little girl for as long as poss? This time next year, I'll be looking for somewhere to take her a couple of mornings a week. Once that happens I'll blink and she'll be in the infants, then junior, then high school, all before I know it. I'm just enjoying her at this young age, and am in no hurry to 'get her off to school', as I've heard someone describe! It's stupid, when they are newborns people tell you to make the most of it because it doesn't last long. Thank goodness it doesn't last long, it's such hard work! And when they are newborns, you can't enjoy them being so small because you're so tired and they're so difficult to work out. Then when you get them at a fun age, everyone assumes you want them off your hands so you can have time to yourself! Well, I'm in no hurry!

Ok, time to shut up my rambling! ha ha ha!
Thanks for showing the pics, K looks so much like you in your 'about me' photo! She is such a pretty little thing.
ooh, tomorrow my entry is mainly for you. I have taken to heart what you said about my plans for autumn/winter clothing, and will explain they way I look at things and why I choose stuff. Tomorrow we're talking Tights! Sounds dull, but you 'll have to wait and see! (not that you need tights where you are, but you'll see what I mean).

Got a piccie of humbug on her bouncy castle to show. Don't think we'll be going out after all this p.m, I think she'll want to be out in the garden with daddy, on her bouncy castle!

xxxxx

OK sweetie,
I set up the Scrabble game on Facebook. It's your turn, but don't stress about it, it's just a bit of fun.

Gotta get some sleep...it's 2.15am!

You enjoy your day. xx

OK, just log in to Facebook and on your top tool bar once you are logged in, click on "home" (top right) then after that on the top right you will see "notifications". Just click on that and there should be a message there. If not, give me a yell. Facebook can be confusing.

Hope you've had a good day. ;)

You asked where to get a countdown thingy, you can get them here-:

I have one on my blog if you want to see what it looks like.

I just sent you a message inviting you to play Scrabulious (sp?) with me. Can you see if it's in your notifications now? Sorry about this, i am learning too and as you can see I'm not so good at it. Thanks Den. xx

Sorry sweetie,
I'm pleased you found it. I didn't realise they wouldn't just send my messages and that when you agreed to play I thought it would give you a link as to what to do. When my friend invited me, I'm sure I just clicked on something in her message, and that began the game. I don't actually remember adding the Scrabulious game as such on it's own. I'm sorry about all the confusion. Hope you have a great weekend. xx I took my turns by the way. ;)

Hi Denise! Just wanted to stop in and wish you a very blessed weekend. I'll bet you slept in this morning, huh? Or did you get up and go to the gym? I'll be heading there a bit later to ride the stationary bike. Have a wonderful Friday sweetie. Big hugs!

Hi missy moo, I've taken my turn. Just take your time though OK. "Glout" I think means to have a sombre face, but am not absolutely certain about that.
