What to blog - what to blog. . .

. . . that is the question! I feel uninspired of late when it comes to posting here. I haven't been doing much in the kitchen so I've nothing to write about in that regard.

Our date night on Friday was fun. I had Sushi!!!!!!!!!! There is a new place that opened up near our 'new' cinemas. It's called Hayashi. What's nice about it is they sell other foods, not just sushi which is why I could get Jason to try it (he hates any type of seafood so there was no way he'd want to try sushi). The only sushi I've had are the california rolls that you can buy at the supermarket. I've never actually been to a place that serves 'raw fish' :-) I tried a plate of assorted sushi, including a spicy tuna sushi roll. I liked it. And it was fun eating with the chopsticks. After dinner we went to the movies and saw Ironman - I liked that too.

On Saturday I popped over to my neighbors for her baby shower. I don't really know her very well and I knew nobody there, so after an hour and a half I 'slipped out' as my inlaws were at my house, having brought Kristen back from her sleepover. It was much more relaxing being with them than a room full of women (and children, I might add) that I didn't know at the shower.

Yesterday I went to the 'new' church with Kristen. Jason had to leave for Denver and he'll be there til Thursday. Kristen is really enjoying going to the kids church so I want to try and be a regular attender as much as I can. If that means going to church on my own some weeks because Jason doesn't want to, then so be it. I like the messages the pastor has at this church and Kristen likes it too, so that's two good reasons for going.

So today is the start of our 'summer routine'. I've printed off a chore chart for Kristen to use and earn herself some 'pennies' to spend over the summer. She hasn't been getting an allowance because she really hasn't needed one. We buy her whatever she needs (and wants - to a certain degree!). Today I am going to do a 'weekly home blessing' - the flylady way! Kristen will do some of the chores from her chart (like make her bed, wash her bathroom sink, pick up toys and clothes etc. After that we have the day to do what we want, which will probably consist of Kristen playing with Connor and me knitting :-)

Hope you all have a lovely start to your week.

morning! It is hard thinking about what to write about.

I am so loving Flylady at the moment, and have pritned off so many lists from her site. Even the constant emails don't irritate me, they just make me want to get on with more. Right now I have one batch of laundry out on the line, I can hear that the washing machine has stopped, so I can get the second load out in a mo, and I have gunk in the oven to clean it. Very Good, and it's only just past 9 a.m!

have a lovely day. lots of love to you xxx

p.s the chart is a superb idea xx

Good Morning...I feel like you. I feel uninspired of late as to what to post. Seems like lately my life consist of work, organizing and sleeping. :) Who wants to read about that. Granted much is getting done at the house though, so I am grateful for that. I would be lost without my charts and list.
Hope you have a wonderful Monday
Hugs!

What a great idea to make such a chart for Kristen. I'm sure she'll enjoy getting money this way. I was wondering about Ironman, it's good to know you liked it. I hope your week is starting well. Hugs

Good Morning Sunshine :-)

I'm glad you had a fun date night. I really liked Ironman too which surprised me actually.

I'm glad you're enjoying the new church. Hopefully Jason will want to come out more & more over time. It would be awesome if you could meet another couple from the church that he gels with ;-)

Sounds like a great plan for Miss Kiki to earn a little $$ and learn some life skills of cleaning! Never too young to learn ;-)

Hope you enjoy your day - stay cool and I'll see ya at the Scrabble board :-)

Hugs xo

Hi! Sounds like a busy day for Kristen! Does she mind doing the chores? Mine used to hate it when they had to do them. Now I don't pay them for anything as they can work, but they still have to do the things around here! Gorgeous day up here so far, but we are supposed to get storms later. Have a great day. Hugs

Hi Denise! Yes, Renee is Justin's new girlfriend. I've just started mentioning her because his previous girlfriend occasionally reads my blog and I was trying to be protective of her feelings as she was a very sweet girl. He's actually been seeing Renee since last August.

Glad you enjoyed the sushi. Try a rainbow roll sometime- that has a lot of variety so a good way to experiment.

I think K earning somemoney over summer is a great idea! Is she into Hannah Montana and/or The Jonas Brothers?

Enjoy the week ahead! (((Hugz)))

A chore chart is a wonderful tool! My kids have one and if they "forget" to do their chores, they lose some of the money they've earned - it's a good motivator. :)

I have posted lately I just moved my blog - you mustn't have gotten my email. It's now http://robynknits.blogspot.com. I combined my knitting and personal blog - to hard for me to keep up with both! Come check out my newest finished object - as soon as I post it. :)

I've never been able to bring myself to try sushi, being that I'm not a big fish eater anyway! Glad you liked it though. It does seem like a fun food to eat! :)

Good luck w/the chore charts!
