Tonight is the Bunco Christmas Social, and although I decided to quit last month I will still go tonight to see everyone and socialize one more time. Next week is our Book Club Christmas social and that's about all the Christmas parties I'll be going to. I am looking forward to out Book Club gathering, it's always exciting hearing what everyone wants to read next year. I think my pick this year is going to be The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls. It was recommended to me from a lady who I was talking to at the church's tea social last month. It sounds rather an interesting read. I also know one of the girls wants to read Water for Elephants and another book mentioned was A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. He also wrote The Kite Runner which we read in book club earlier this year. This was a book I would never have thought to pick up and read but I thoroughly enjoyed it, so I am looking forward to reading his next one with the group.
Well I shall get back to pottering around the house and cleaning. I'm pretty much on top of things, so I'm finding the time to go through cupboards and stuff to clean and declutter!

Hey D! Happy Hump Day!
I can't wait to be puttering around the house again without work nipping at my toes... at least for awhile until I start temping ;-)
Your book club always sounds so interesting! I should maybe consider doing something like that in the new year... or getting involved in something. I know that when I'm home more that I will need to find something to fill in some time whether it be volunteering or getting involved more in a ministry. Too much time on my hands by myself isn't healthy for me!! I'll drive Doug NUTS!
Enjoy your peaceful week & talk to you soon!!
Hugs xo
Hi Denise! I sent off my Christmas cards to my blog friends today and I sent you a Santa photo. :) Nice that your clubs have Christmas gatherings. (((Hugz)))
Hi Denise, same here not much to write about. It's really cold with a fast wind today so trying to stay warm. Feeling a bit more in the holiday mood. Finally have my tree and few decorations out. I wish there was a book club here. Love and ~hugs~
Ooh.... you sound busy! Wanna come to my house and declutter??? ;)
Hello! Now it's Friday. This week has flown by. got into town yesterday p.m (the lure of a gingerbread latte from Starbucks again, my third now since Saturday!), and picked up the Jan SK for you! :O) Yey. I'm out of envelopes, but will get some tomorrow, and aim for the mag to be in the post on Monday. With a bit of luck, you'll get it before Christmas. Yey! I'd love to pop in something extra for you, but I have to be careful, got to send out a load of cards so having to be frugal. :O(
Been busy today. Wanted to make cads, but instead have been putting up extra trees and lights! Just need to get the tree up in dining room, but then I think I've done enough. Have got lights on the top of the kitchen cupboards, looks rather sweet and humbug loves it. She nearly fell backwards holding her head back so she could see them properly!
Right. Better get off the computer. Bill is doing his Christmas shopping, so far it's taken him about 6 hours, how lovely to have the luxury! I had to do mine in about an hour because it was halfway through humbugs nap. Oh, we did purchase a South Beach Diet cookbook on Amazon.I've told Bill that's the diet we should follow for at least 4 or 5 months, by then it will hopefully have re-educated our eating habits. Hope so. I'd love to lose at least a stone next year. :O)

Well I'm a bit late for the Wednesday madness but I hope you are having a great weekend. I am knitting hats, I made a knock-off of one from Banana Republic, I'll have to get you the link, it's really cute but I made it too big. Then I made a beret that I love! Need to block it though. I'm going to make one for Zachary and Missy too - hats that is, not a beret. :) Have you signed up for Ravelry yet? It is an amazing place for knitters and crocheter to network and see other people's projects and how they used a specific yarn. You can sign up here: www.ravelry.com It's still in Beta so there is a waitlist but it goes pretty quick.
