The game room is looking such a mess right now it's not worth taking pictures. Not until we move things around again at the weekend. So while you're waiting for those pics (and because I promised pictures in my next post) I thought you might like some 'Farm' news. Let's be honest, it's been a while since I last posted about it, June 27th to be exact!
THIS. . . is the pumpkin patch:

Thriving, isn't it? :-) There's probably a half dozen or more plants in this bed. Jason has trained most of them to go up the trellis. The flowers you see are mainly 'male' flowers. The female flower will have a 'bulb' at it's base. So far we've only seen 2. . . this is one of them:

Just last week this little guy was still pretty green. He turned orange very quickly but doesn't seem to be growing as fast. It's one of the Jack-o-Lantern ones (not the little sugar pumpkins) so we are hoping he gets much bigger.
The other pumpkin is hanging on the trellis (trying to disguise himself as a melon)!

But he can't fool us. . . THIS is a watermelon (hanging on a trellis)

back to the pumpkin patch. . . a couple of different angle shots:

The picture above is taken from the other side of the trellis.
And now back to the watermelon patch!

and below, 2 more watermelons further down on the same trellis. Kristen is thrilled with these little guys, watermelon is her favorite fruit!

Hope you enjoyed your little walk through the 'patches' this morning. It's Friday and we have no plans :-) Just a nice relaxing day doing whatever we want.

wow. That's all I can say. Wow. My pumpkins have NEVER done that well, and never will, it's too wet and too cold here to grow decent ones. I've got a butternut squash in Gingerbread Garden but I don't have high hopes for it, it's still tiny and it's been in there over a month!!
Your farm is doing so well. You must be chuffed to bits.
Hope your ikea trip went well. xx
Hi Denise! Your garden looks fantastic and the pumpkin flower totally looks like our FT pumpkins! ;) Our neighbor grows humongous pumpkins every year and UCSD (University of Cal, San Diego) has the biggest hauled down to campus and they drop it from the top of a tall building around Halloween. It's usually @ 500 lbs! Sounds like you're learning a lot about gardening. Enjoy the weekend! (((Hugz)))
Hi Denise! WOW - what a beautiful garden! You certainly have a 'green thumb'! Thank you for sharing these photos. I always love your photo posts.
Sounds like you had a lovely 4th! What a beautiful setting you had...wish I had a piece of that cake right now. :-)
Hope your ENT appt. went well Denise. Have a blessed weekend. Hugs!
Wow sis, things sure are growing in your garden, are you sure your name's not Mary. Takes me back to that pumpkin patch you were sat in when you had a beautiful pumpkin tum - I've still got the pic somewhere lol, you did look sweet though love ya xxx
WHOA! I almost didn't recognize your farm. It has grown SO much since we were there. I'll have to show Doug these pics - he'll be shocked! lol
Enjoy your bounty!
Hugs
I loved the garden picture of the pumpkins and watermelon. Way better than FT! Enjoy the fruits of your labor. Hugs
