Have any of you ever used FlyLady? I have, but it's been a while. This week I've realized I need to start doing something if I'm to try and get this house (and my life) in some kind of order! There are days when I just feel so overwhelmed because I have so much to do, that actually NOTHING gets done! Do you know that feeling? And now that the Summer break is upon us I fear my days will be spent just lazing around and September will come and I'll think 'what did I do, did I accomplish anything?".
Of course I don't want all summer to be just filled with chores and housework but I do want to spend some time getting things decluttered and in order and I will have to keep up with laundry and dusting and grocery shopping etc. So, I took my first step yesterday and joined Flylady again. I know you get a ton of emails from her site but that's ok, you can easily delete the ones you don't need. Today I'm working on a 'Control Journal'. At the same time I'm doing laundry, finishing off the cushions for Cheryl AND listing a couple of new things in my Etsy store that I've had finished for a week but just haven't had the time to take pictures of -until today that is ;-)

I'm happy to report that Kristen did not have strep throat so she has been able to go to school today and will be able to say goodbye to her friends tomorrow as they celebrate last day of school. The Dr said she had a slight irritation in one ear and asked if she'd been swimming lately, which she did last weekend. The throat may have hurt because of drainage? I can't say I'm convinced but if her ear gets worse or the sore throat doesn't go away in a couple of days I can call the office and they'll call in a prescription for her.So, one more day and 'SCHOOL'S - OUT - FOR - SUMMER'!! (I always have that Alice Cooper song playing in my head when I say that) LOL :-) Have a great day everyone, and thanks for stopping by.

Hi Denise!! A lady I work with uses flylady to keep her on track. I think she is wonderful. I have just not ever signed up. I have a small house though.

I never heard of Flylady...I will have to check it out. I need all the help in organizing that I can get. And I love the necklace you made. Next on my list is to visit your Etsy shop!

I LOVE Flylady! I used fly with her for a long time several years ago. I recently have thought about getting back to it and now that you are mentioning it, I'm sure I will. You and I have similar interests it seems the more I read your posts. :-)

Even though there are issues with time between Flylady and me, I've stayed on the mailing list for the past couple of years or so. Once the penny dropped and I realised she was saying 'don't worry about the house being perfect, find a routine that suits you and work around your needs' then I found her totally inspirational. I find I just need little reminders so I don't get sidetracked. Flylady is good with that, and the 15 minute rule and shiny sink idea are my favourites, in fact, I've just finished shining the sink :o)
I wondered if you'd see the post from today, and if it would give you pangs of homesickness. :o/ sorry about that!
