Of course you all knew I was gonna say this didn't you - "I'm glad I went to the retreat" :-) It was a lot of fun, and I really did have a good time. Summer's Mill is only about a 45 minute drive from us. I got there about 4.30pm and checked in. I had no idea who I was rooming with but Kathy( the lady in the picture below) had set me up with a great bunch of gals! She knew it was my first retreat from talking to her at church. She introduced me to one of my room mates straight away. Kerry is one of the gals on the ladies ministry team, very friendly and lots of fun.Dinner was served at 5.30 and after that we went to the conference room to start our first session. The theme was Extreme Makeover 'Inside Edition'
After the session we all went back to our rooms to put on our PJ's. It was pajama party time and the first 'Not So Talented Talent Show'! We'd all brought snacks to share that we put out on a table.There were lots of different things, from chips to dips, to fresh fruit to cookies..... before the talent show got started the ladies ministry team put on a fashion show for us. I wanted to share a few fun photos of it. . . . .First up was Kathy modeling the latest 'tube top'. . . . . . :-)
below is Kerry (my room mate) modeling the 'cap-sleeve dress'. You can see the orange UT hat one sleeve. On the other she had the A&M (UT's rivals) hat.
Next we have Rae, modeling the 'double-breasted jacket'. . . . . .
This young lady is dressed for her '9 to 5' job! and wearing a beautiful '14 carrot' necklace (yes they are real carrots) . . . . . 
"bell bottoms ARE back in fashion! (this lady had cow bells on her bottom)
who could forget the ever fashionable. . . 'baby doll'
Wasn't that funny! We all had a great laugh. The talent show was next! There were only about 4 entries but they were funny. I only got a couple of pictures. . . . . here's the Elvis impersonator - ELVINA!
And there was an awesome 'moms rap group'. They called themselves the CrackerG's! Their song was so funny. The announcer said they were available for pictures after the show and autograph signing, so I got my picture taken with them. Told them I was gonna show my family in England and tell them I was with the most popular girl band in America. They thought that was funny.
Finally after midnight we headed back to our rooms. There were 4 of us sharing a room. We got in to bed and chatted with the lights out for about 40 minutes before falling asleep.On Saturday we got a little tour of the place and saw lots of cute animals. I'll share pictures tomorrow, or this post will be waaaaaay too long.

I am so glad that you had soooo much fun at the retreat and you went anyway. Oh, to answer your question about what video Kari and I watched, it is on my post for Saturday... Hint... it has to do with Jane Austen.

Denise, I am so glad you went. I knew you'd have a good time. Every time I sign up to go, I always kind of don't want to but end up having a great time! At the last retreat I went to, the ladies did that same type of fashion show...so funny!! How was the speaker??

Seriously though, it brought such joy to my heart to see such a big smile on your face in the picture with the rap "stars". I am SOOOOO glad you went and I'm even happier you had such a blast!
