Day 3. . . .

Not much going on today, but I thought I would do a quick post for anyone popping in. It's day 3 of Jason's SBD! But he'll be going to Chuy's today :-/ (pronounced Chewy's!, it's his fav mexican restaurant)
He announced yesterday that they would still probably go out once a week at work for lunch! Well, ok, hopefully this will still work. I'm a firm believer in not being too strict on a diet. If you give up everything you like you are more tempted to give in to temptation or 'fall off the wagon' so to speak. Jason weighed himself on Monday and he's already down about 4lb (it comes off a lot faster when you have more to lose - unlike for me, I've only lost about a pound in the past 2 weeks!)

As you can see from today's pictures, I made deviled eggs yesterday. They are a good quick snack for low carb diets. This is my own recipe where I just scoop out the egg yolks and mix them with a little mayo and French's mustard. And as unkeen (is that a word?) as I am about eggs, I even like to snack on one or two of these in between my meals.

Well, I can't sit here all day, I need to catch up with housework, I seem to be forever behind on it. I need to check out Flylady again just as a reminder on some things. I like how she does a 'weekly home blessing hour' each week. I think I will do that now, just run around quickly and straighten every room, vacuum and dust too. Laundry is already going.

ooh, I am a total egg addict, the only way I won't eat them is raw! I'd have polished off the lot of those eggs :O) I like your dish as well, don't think I've ever seen a dish like that before.

I think losing 'just' a pound is good going actually, every little helps!
I watched a superb programme on telly last night, called 'the diets time forgot'. 9 people stay at some fabulous house, and it's run like the days of old. The people are split into three groups, and each do different diets from different times. Edwardian diet, Victorian and the 1920's diet. One of them, the Victorian, is a forerunner to the Atkins, where they mainly ate meat. Anyway. At the end of the programme they did a weigh in (incidentially, everyone dresses up in period clothes relating to the diet era, fabulous!), and everyone had lost weight. from 1lb to 10lb!!! 10lb!!! Have to point out that that was a bloke of course (had to be), and he has a lot of weight to shift. One woman lost half a stone, the time scale of this? 3 days! that's pretty good going in just three days, imagine if they were doing it for three months. No idea how long the programme/diets last for, next week they start with exercise from those times too.
It all sounds fab, but I think you have to think that it's got to be because firstly, they are in an environment where the food is prepped for them and they don't have access to it outside meal times, and secondly, take away the takeaways and choccy bars and of course there will be weight loss! No McDonalds in Victorian England!

I'm waiting for it to start raining soon. I've just been cleaning windows and want to do the front downstairs ones before it gets dark. Rain is guaranteed!

time I was off.Have a super day xxxx

The eggs look great Denise. I will need to make some of those since I love them. I want to be good on Easter so I offered to bring steamed veggies. I will also have canned corn for the picky eaters. Corn is off limits for me. I saw a recipe for a breakfast pizza that I want to try after I am finished with the two week no carbs. Thanks for looking for the book for me.

Eggs are often on sale this time of year for Easter. We hav Chuy's here but I've only been once. There's usually a tostada or salad of some sort to get. Black beans are better than refried, etc... You just have to make the right choices but I agree, you have to not be too strict or you'll feel deprived. (((Hugz)))
