Tagine. . . . .it's what's for dinner!

Or to be exact, it's what WAS for dinner last night! And it was rather tasty. I've never heard of Chicken Tagine, I'm not even sure how you pronounce it, but I found it in the little South Beach book I bought in the grocery store the other day.

It has lemon and olives in it, cumin and coriander. The hint of lemon when eating it was very nice (to me anyway, I just love lemons!) Anyway, thought I would share the pictures with you cos there's not much else going on around here.

This is the little book I got. I've actually got another one just like this that I bought a few months ago. The reason I got another one is because there are actually different recipes in it. They both give the general overview of SB and how to start off the diet etc, but I like that they have pictures of new recipes.

And did you know there's a new South Beach Diet book due out next month? It's called South Beach Diet Super Charged. I'm not sure if it will be much different to the original, and I doubt I'll buy it, but I'll be interested to see what it's like when it hits the bookstores.

Today we're off to piano lesson. We usually go at 4 on Wednesday but due to spring break we are going at 9.30am this morning. After that I think we might do a little shopping. We have after all been stuck at home the past two days doing nothing. It will be nice to get out for an hour or so.

Hi Denise, I think I am going to get the SB magazine/book. I really need to get on that to jump start my diet. I have gained too much weight and everything is getting tight. I know it is from overeating and menopause. :( The chicken looks great and I do appreciate the pictures you share that make it look so appealing. Hugs

Hi Denise. I have 2 SBD cookbooks- the original and then the quick & easy (I think that's what it's called) one which I like because the recipes don't require so many ingredients. It can get really expensive buying all these spices, oils, etc... when you only use a pinch. Nice that you're on spring break so don't you and Kiki go too wild! ;)

It's March Break up here too... not that it makes a difference in our home - hee hee.

As I was reading all about your diet book all I could think was ... how cool is this that with digital cameras we can see the stuff we're all talking about. I just took a picture of my new lamp today & put it on my blog - hee hee.

Hope you & Kiki are enjoying "Girl's Week In" :-)

Love you both xo

Look at you, we'll have to call you "Martha" with all these new recipes and cooking going on there! I did try making your crustless quiche, it turned out really well. I added in spinach and a few other odds and sods and it was delicious. I just wanted to thank you for sharing. My family loved it too, we had 1/4 each for breakfast.

Not long 'til Jason gets back. Big huggles, xx

it's pronounced 'tar-geene', well, it is here anyway! your version of the recipe looks really good. :O) I have a few foodie pics on my diary today too. I always find I talk about and show piccies of food more, when I'm trying to be careful! ha ha ha!
thanks for your email. I've been trying to stop wasting time during the day on the computer, so have not replied yet. But, wanted to say that yes, the two tortillas are pronounced the same, and I wondered if anyone would query the use of the name for an omlette. The difference is probably being down to one being Spanish, the other Mexican.

I hope your weather has picked up now. Ours is still a little gloomy, but after the recent wind and rain, it feels much calmer :O)

Time to finish iroing Bill's shirt, yuck, such a bore! Have a great day xxxxxx
