I feel so behind on my blog reading and catching up with you all, but I didn't want that to stop me from posting too. I will get caught up soon and visit all your blogs a few at a time this week. In the meantime I just wanted to let you all know I posted an update to my garden blog this week and I still have 'week 8' to post from this past weekend. Here's a few of the pictures from out back, I thought I'd show them here and join in with Susan's wonderful
Outdoor Wednesday and the lovely Marla's
Woo Hoo Wednesday :-)
Things are starting to look pretty good outside now. . . .

The pumpkins that were being eaten alive by beetles have started growing like crazy and already producing pretty yellow flowers.

Sunflowers are starting to bloom too!

There's Jason checking on the green beans.

Picking green beans for dinner :-)

The plums on the tree are ripe and we've been picking those this week too. What I love best is when Jason and I wander around the garden in the evening and we pick fruit and eat it as we go. Some apricots are ready too . . . .
Woo Hoo, look what we picked last night. Apricots and plums from the trees, and a few beans for Jason's dinner (I'd already eaten). I have a huge ziploc bag in the freezer of beans I picked and blanched a few days ago.
School is out on Friday but it looks like Kristen might not be back there this week! I went to her graduation ceremony yesterday but after school she was complaining of yet another headache (she's had a few this past week which I thought might just be allergies) and then mentioned her throat is sore - again! She also had a fever of 100.7. I have kept her off school today and will take her to the Dr at 11am this morning. I am hoping it's not strep again, but if it is she probably won't be able to return to school.

Hi Denise! Oooh...I'm so jealous of your home grown crop...they're so beautiful and looks so delicious! I also planted sunflowers this year but no flowers yet. How high do they grow before the flowers bloom anyway?

Hi Denise!! I hope Kristen feels better soon!!
Your fresh fruit and veggies look great!!!!
Your garden is beautiful! We are skipping ours this year in favor of some major yard work that needed to get done. I miss it.
Have a great day!
Kim
Hi Denise,
Your homegrown crops look so good!! Love the flowers-my youngest daughter loves Sunflowers and these are one of her favourites!
Enjoy your day!
Hugs.
I am SO jealous of your garden. Maybe if we ever live somewhere long enough, I can have one. Looks yummy!
Wow, look at your garden. So pretty, and I love seeing all the blooms on your pumpkins. I can never get mine to do anything here.
Enjoy your blessings of your hard work.
Hugs,
Cindy
Hi Denise! Sure looks like your hard work in the garden has paid off. How rewarding! You really do make me want a garden. I love the sunflower - I love them. Hope Kristen feels better & gets to go say goodbye to her schoolmates. Sending you big hugs!
Denise the veggies all look amazing! You guys are really good at gardening. Green beans and broccoli sound delish right now.
Thanks for coming by sweet friend. I'm glad you all had a nice weekend as well. ~Melissa :)
Hey Denise !! Thanks so much for coming over for a visit and sweetly commenting on my bedroom redo. You know, I'm not sure what I'll do this year for Xmas. I may have fun doing Christmas colors in there this year that step away from the traditional ones. On the other hand, if I keep my ceiling green, I can always go back to my "other" colors if I want to. LOL I LOVE your garden ... I'm envious that you have one. I can only imagine how fresh and wonderful everything tastes !! Take care, Becca
Great garden and don't you just love the fresh stuff!
Wow-your garden looks wonderful! We had an apricot tree (three actually) in our first garden. The previous owner had planted them and I think each tree produced about 2 million apricots : ) We had a lot of fruit that summer!
You are so lucky to have such a fabulous garden and trees. Woo Hoo! What an awesome labor of love.
So sorry about your daughter being ill. We just got back from vacation, took our daughter's boyfriend and he was sick almost the entire vacation. I felt so sorry for him. There's so much "stuff" going around, still.
Mmmm, the fruits look so yummy, Denise! My plum trees are still small, just planted them last year...Christine
