Busy days . . . . .

Hello! I'm still here, just had a couple of busy days and haven't had a chance to jump on here. Wednesday is going to be a day when I'm hardly in the house from now on. Bible study started last week and I went again yesterday. I LOVE Beth Moore! We are studying 'Daniel' and so far I'm loving it. There are about 90 women in this one study at church (it's the only study the church is offering right now) but we sit on smaller tables of 8, and we keep this same table for the whole 12 week study. The best part of the study for me is listening to the videos of Beth. She explains things in such an awesome way. When we come home we have 5 days of study to do on our own before our next get together at church.

Bible study is from 9.30am to 11.30am, so I just about have time to clear up breakfast things, run the dishwasher and perhaps throw a load of laundry on, then I'm out the door at 9am. Yesterday I took a detour home to the yarn store! and got home at 12.30. I made myself some lunch, put the laundry in the dryer, checked my email and did a couple of other things, then it was 2pm and time to head out to pick up Kristen. We get home about 3pm, and at 4pm we head out again to piano lesson. We are usually home at 5.20pm but last night there was a truck overturned on the road and the traffic was backed up for miles. We finally got home at 6.15!!!! And that was the day over. After Kristen went to bed I put my feet up and watched American Idol :-)

Today, I volunteered at the church library again. This time I can't do it on the same day as bible study because the lady wants to open it from 10-12 (I think I may have told you this already). So I popped over there today for 2 hours, came straight home at 12, and pottered around doing housework until it was time to go for Kristen.

I can't believe how fast the day goes by. Sometimes I feel like I've accomplished nothing, but I have to remind myself that I've gotten my little girl up for school, drove her to school, helped at the library, cleared the kitchen, vacuumed, loaded and unloaded the dishwasher. . . .AND the washer and dryer! Picked up little girl from school again, helped with homework, made dinner, fed the dog, cleared the kitchen after dinner, spent time with Kristen while she practiced the piano, read her a story at bedtime and (big sigh) am now posting on here! Seriously. . . I need to quit thinking I haven't accomplished anything!

And finally - TGIF tomorrow. What I like best about it is knowing I don't have to turn the alarm on for 6am when I go to bed ;-)

Roll on Saturday!

Phew woman!!!! I know what you mean - we're our own worst critics aren't we? I cleaned like a crazy woman this morning downstairs and tomorrow I need to tackle the upstairs and wade through all of the laundry before we head back home on Monday. It's going to be a crazy weekend.

It sure feels like we don't accomplish much but generally we more than we think. So...what yarn did you get??

Hi Denise! You are like me - I feel as though I didn't accomplish anything on some days, & then realize that I did more than most do in 2 or 3 days, in that ONE day! We women are too hard on ourselves. I loved the pics of your meals, but am now feeling very hungry! You want to lose a pound, & now you will cause me to gain a pound, cause I now want to raid the frig! Have a blessed weekend. Hugs!

Hi sweetie,
You sure are a busy girl!

We're getting American Idol within hours of you getting it this time.My oh my, there were some crazy people on there last night. Paula is so sweet isn't she. What about her getting up and dancing with that Asian guy singing about "you are my brother" over and over again. He had no idea they were taking the Micky out of him. He obviously didn't have an ounce of talent but was very entertaining.

How's Kirsten going with her piano lessons? It's a great skill to have. My daughter Brooke plays beautifully and loved to learn. Now she's older and can play anything she is so glad she stuck with the lessons and practice.

Hope you get to sleep in and have a terrific weekend.

Huggles from across the Pacific puddle. xx

I think what you describe there, is how all women who are at home all day, often think they have done nothing, when actually, the home would fall apart without them! The reason I often list what I did in the two hours that girly magoo sleeps, is partly to say 'good grief, I can't believe I got all this done', but also to remind myself that I am actually pretty bloomin' busy!

yes, the spag bol does seem like an effort compared with opening a jar!!!!! I can't believe you said that! ha ha ha! The whole point of cooking is about creating something fabulous from scratch. If I'm in the mood then I love to potter about in the kitchen, if I can't be bothered then I am happy to open a jar. The Gordon Ramsay cookalong that's on tonight is a prime example.I love the idea of cooking with G, but the thought of fiddling about doing stuff his way, and at such a late time (late for me) just puts me off. I think he's basically doing steak and chips, and blimey oh riley, if you can't cook that without having someone show you step by step, then that's quite tragic really. although, I am sure he'll be doing some 'restauranty' style chips. I'd slice open a bag of McCain and shove in the oven! ;o)

will email you when I get the chance. Still have twenty billion things I want to do before humbug is awake (in the next hour),so I'll mail 'whenever'!

have a great day. xxxxx

Hey D! I am exhausted reading about your life!! hee hee.

I think when your day is so choppy (dropping off Kiki, picking her back up etc) it seems the day goes faster. That's how it was for my sister in NC because the kids got home so much earlier and they had to go get picked up as opposed to walking to/from school or taking a bus. You are one of the busiest Moms I know so don't be so hard on yourself, girl!

I am shocked at how much more tired I am being home than I was working. I barely sit down it feels like some days.

Have a great weekend!!

Hugs xo

Hi Denise!
I've been super busy, too. I got a lot accomplished this week so I'm hoping next week will be less busy. I just wanted to pop in and say hello before I head off to make dinner. Have a great weekend sweetie. Big hugs!

Hi Denise! I would like to do a Beth Moore study...I hear they are wonderful. You sound really busy but in a good way!

To answer your question...our church offers the family a luncheon before or after the funeral service and they have done this since I have been going there, which is going on 12 years. This way the family doesn't have to worry about everyone getting fed because the members at our church do all of the food and cleanup.

((BIG HUGS))

Hi Denise! I was here earlier and had to leave before commenting. It's amazing how busy we "homemakers" and SAHM's can be. I still am going, going, going all the time and I thought things would slow down once I had an "empty nest!" Not so! I think we're just the types that will always find things to keep ourselves busy. :) Enjoy the weekend! (((Hugz)))

hello!
thought I'd leave a little note and tell you that Bill came home with SKFeb yesterday! It comes with a little free gift, some stitch holders or something. Look like the little things you put on the stem of a wine glass to mark your glass at a party!
Anyway, we've been out and about this morning, and I managed to get it in the post. With a bit of luck, both mags should turn up just days apart. :O)
have a lovely weekend.

xx
p.s forgot to take my recipe with me for the spag bol, so had to buy a jar of the stuff instead! Hilarious!
