But anyway, I'm doing housework, and it's the weekend! Something not right with this picture. I'm obviously behind on housework and the fact that Kristen was only in school 2 days this week hasn't helped. I blame the holidays too of course. Everything goes by the wayside when Kristen is off school. Not to worry though, I shall get caught up next week and will start to get back in to a routine, I've no doubt about it.
In the meantime... I thought I'd mention a blog I just found this week, from a link on another blog, on a blog, on a blog, you know how it is once you get surfing! ..... it's called Home Sanctuary, and Rachel the host has started something for the new year called 'Sanctuary is in the small things'. Each day she is giving you one small thing to do, and I've really been enjoying reading about these, and trying to do some of them. For instance the other day her suggestion was 'reintroduce your family to fruit'! A nice reminder for me as I try to eat healthy and try to get my family to do the same. I just bought some fresh fruit and veg that day and actually bought some cherries - one of Kristen's favorites or so she tells me. So I set them out on the dinner table as suggested, and we all munched away at them with our meal :-) Anyway, I'm enjoying Rachel's site, so I thought I would just share it with you. CLICK HERE if you'd like to visit Home Sanctuary.
Have a super weekend everyone.

Thanks Denise for mentioning the the Home Santuary website. It is very very interesting. I landed on the posting about her house near Dallas. There are many nice things to read and do there.
I have been doing the same thing as you today. Seems like a good time for it. Have a good evening!
Denise, Thank you for sharing the Home Sanctuary blog. What a wonderful visit I had there! Lots of good ideas. Hope your 'taking care of you' year is off to a good start. I hope to do the same - I want to pamper myself & I could sure use it this year after a difficult one! Hugs...
Hi Denise That was an interesting link - I'm trying to achieve a few small "gains" myself today. Blogging for a set time, then house work for a set time and then a bit more blogging etc.. It's working quite well so far. It is difficult to catch up after Christmas isn't it? I shall be glad to get back into a regular routine. Hope you had a fun time and a lovely New Year. Love xxx
Hello!
Ok, I've explained something to Darylynn today, and I will do the same here too! The reason I did a girl hangning out the washing is because, well, yes, I do it so that's partly it, but also, drawing washing billowing on the line was more interesting than drawing a tumble drier. And, you know what I'm going to say here too don't you? I am very anti driers, and refuse to have one every time Bill offers. I know they get things nice and fluffy and soft, and dry quickly, but I like that I am doing my bit for the environment. :O) It's just one of my things.
D was saying how her little mood girl was spot on for her today, as it had a front loading washing machine. I explained that front loading washing machines are the norm over here, so when it came to drawing one it was automatic to draw it that way. :O)
Guess what I've been doing today? housework! I often go beserk on a Sunday, especially if I'm taking girly magoo to be weighed on the Monday, so that I don't have to rush about like a loon after we're back from the clinic. I've just hoovered the house, put on the bed a fab new quilt we bought this morning (pink, of course), made humbugs tea for today, and prepped stuff for her tomorrow, cooked our lunch (salmon), cleared up about seven times in the kitchen, and am now about to start on the ironing. Including all the damp sheets so they can start off drying when I hang them in the airing cupboard! I am worn out,but determined to get everything done today. And hopefully, while it's still light outside.
I came over to say to you that you must not worry too much about your bad eating habits this weekend. One thing all diets ore eating plans say is that if you have a bad day, don't worry about it and start afresh the next day. I think that's great advice. Instead of thinking 'oh no, I've just guzzled and entire tin of Quality Street' and feeling bad (not that you have of course, but you see what I mean!), just move on and start again. I am going to re-introduce Bill to spuds again this week, I think he's finding it really, really hard to have a meal without them. By having a few days without any potatoes, I think he'll appreciate a tiny amount on his plate and I can keep it to small amounts only. Ordinarily he has a pile of mash the size of a mountain, sloshing with gravy!
Your fruit thing is a brilliant idea. Fruit can be as much of a treat as choccy. When I was little I loved cherries, but my mum wouldn't buy them often because they were so expensive. But how stupid is that? Just a small amount as a treat is brilliant, and far better to give to kids than a cheaper bar of choccy or something.
I will pop over and see that site when I get a chance. Right now I need to shut up yakking and get on!
lots of love xxxx
Thanks for the nice post! I didn't get ANY housework done this weekend, now it's piling up....oh well, one small thing at a time, right??
