As promised, here are some pictures of the bag I made last weekend. The class was for a 'Designer Tote', I'm not sure who the designer actually is because the pattern that we needed was on back order. We got the instructions on what pieces to cut etc. from the class teacher and we'll be sent the pattern when it comes in to the store.

I bought the material at the store where I took the class. They didn't have much to chose from in the quilted fabric. There were only 3 choices to be exact, the other two had pink in them, but I went for these colors with the upcoming Fall season in mind :-) I'm really pleased with my handywork, and despite the overall cost being a little pricey (class cost, plus material, plus a new 'walking foot' for my machine) it was totally worth it. I learned a lot and had a great time too.
Below is the back of the bag with just one pocket (the front has two pockets, one in contrasting colors). What I loved about the quilted fabric is that it is reversible , with a different pattern on the other side.

You can see the reverse of the material on the inside of the bag. The flowery top part is just plain material.

I am so impressed!! Very talented. I love to do crafts too. I love the puppy even more though:)
that is so good! You did brilliantly well. I never show close ups of my handiwork, because quite frankly it's rubbish! I consider myself a bodger of the highest order because I make things up as I go along. But it's fun and I enjoy it. You should get the book 'Seams to me' by Anna Maria Horner. It's stuffed full of lovely ideas, with easy to follow 'how to's' and comes complete with 10 patterns at the back of the book. I love the book, although I must add I've not made a thing from it yet (and I've had it since Christmas - typical of me!), but it is inspirational. she's a busy mum, but still has time to create and write books. I don't know how she does it! She has a blog

You will be hooked!
Have a super Tuesday. ooh, forgot to say to you yesterday, just after I took the photo of the sea glass, I took it downstairs and pushed it in a Bonne Maman jam jar with a candle in the middle. When I read your comment I laughed and thought 'great minds'! ;o) xx
Wow, clever you, you did a fantastic job and it turned out very professionally. So are you going into the tote making business and selling them on Etsy? Thanks for sharing, I was busting to take a peek.
I'm so pleased Kiki had a great first day and you are so sweet the way you celebrate her special days. You're building wonderful positive memories that will stay with her for life.
Lots of love 'n hugs,
