Some fun (and not so fun) things...

The not so fun thing is Kristen has Strep throat! She started complaining of a headache after school on Monday and the fact it hurt a little when she swallowed. On Monday night (4.30am Tues actually) she came in to our room because it was still hurting. I gave her some Tylenol and let her sleep with us, and yesterday I took her to the Dr to rule out Strep (because I'd heard a few kids at her school had it). Turns out it was indeed Strep for her too so she's on antibiotics and off school again today. The good part is her symptoms are very mild, her throat isn't even hurting today and the Dr said she could return to school tomorrow. I'm already on antibiotics for my sinuses so hopefully I won't 'catch' anything from her!

Fun things.... just before I left for England I found out I'd won Susan's lovely giveaway - Pride and Prejudice book and a beautiful handmade cuff. My package arrived while I was away... look how pretty it was wrapped up, I love the tissue paper:

I love the movie with Keira Knightly and Matthew Macfadyen (I actually got it as a Christmas gift from my inlaws) but I've never read the actual book. I've been wanting to for a while and kept checking my library but they didn't even have a copy on their shelves!

I can't wait to start this soon (probably after I've read my March bookclub read). And look at the pretty cuff!

I think I may have to wear this while I read the book ;-) Thank you Susan.

Also, just before I left for England my new bloggy friend Mel sent me the most beautiful Psalms book....

It was just what I needed and I took it with me on the plane and read from it a lot while I was home with Mam...

Thank you Melanie, your thoughtfulness and friendship mean so much.

And lastly, remember this....

I posted about it HERE, just a little craft project I had in mind. I simply painted the frame black, removed the glass, covered the cardboard with burlap and glued the 'S' on it. I had originally wanted a wooden letter but couldn't find one the size I needed in the craft store. But anyway, I like how this turned out, and as you can see it's hanging on my 'family wall', which is still not complete yet (but I'm getting there).... what do you think?

Sorry to hear about Kikki...hope the antibiotics kick in and she is feeling better soon.

What lovely things you won and received before you left for England. I love the tissue paper too. Like you, I love the movie but haven't read the book but think that I would love to very much.

Your little craft project turned out great. It looks wonderful on your "family" wall.

Hope your having a wonderful blessed Wednesday!

Hugs,
Cindy

Second person I've heard of having Strep today. Must be going around.

What a fun package. I have read the book, a number of times. You're going to love it.

Your family wall is coming along beautifully. Such a talented girl, aren't you?!
