What are your plans. . . .

I've linked this post up to The Nester's Tassel Party today April 22nd. If you're visiting from the link I left over there welcome and thanks for coming to visit. Feel free to leave a comment on this post (I get new emails when you do) so I will know you've been by even if it's an older post and would love to return your visit. I bought Nester's Tassel Book and love it... these are a few of the tassels I've made so far.

. . . . for Easter this year? How do you celebrate? Do you have Easter traditions, have the family over for dinner, bake a ham, have an egg hunt for the kids? I thought Easter was 2 weeks away, then I realized I was thinking that last Monday and here we are at the beginning of another week and Easter is actually this week! Boy, I need to get a move on and get some planning done - I haven't even bought a ham! Traditionally (at least for the past few years since we moved to TX) my mom-in-law and I have taken turns to make our 'traditional' Easter feast of baked ham, potatoes, veg etc. They come over after church (or we go to their house) and spend the afternoon together. This year I will be doing the cooking, which I always love to do.

I don't have many Spring or Easter decorations but I've already started setting the table with what I do have (I'll share pics on Thursday) and after buying a few ribbons last week I made this . . . .

Isn't he cute. I've been wanting to make more tassels after my first attempt a few weeks ago (which I posted about HERE) . This time I took the next step in tassel making and used ribbons and 'filler' too. I was rather pleased with how he turned out.

The problem with buying tassel supplies right now though is it's hard to find things to use that are already 'hanging' or that have a place to hopefully drill a hole so you can hang them. I think the best time will be Christmas when all the ornaments will be on sale again.

I found this nativity ornament at Goodwill last week(99c!) and thought I'd try to make a tassel with it.

It turned out just ok to me, I'm not totally happy with it, but it's hard to re-do tassels once you've hot glued everything, this will still look nice around the holidays I think. Then I made another ribbon tassel using a cross I bought in Hobby Lobby. . . .

I like the brown and pink ribbons on this, but not sure that I'll keep it as I don't really have that color scheme anywhere in the house.

So, it's back to house cleaning for me this week, planning for Easter, and perhaps a visit from the Easter Bunny too!

I'm linking to Met Monday at Susan's blog Between Naps on the Porch. Hop on over and visit some other great participants.

Very pretty! I love the first one! I've been making tassels too. Aren't they fun to make? I need to take pictures of another tassel I made. :)

The chick is so cute - definitely my favorite in his sweet little nest! We follow the same Easter tradition every year - with us though, it is lamb, with roasted potatoes. My dad makes the best, and all of my brothers and sisters and our kids go to his house for Easter. He's a terrific cook!
Have a great week,
Stephanie

Hi Denise!
I love to make tassels too. I have also found tutorials online and have written about the ones I found on my post for today. I also wrote about my starfish tassel. {We must be on the same wavelength!}

I love your chick tassel, he's just precious! The colors are perfect for spring and your cross for Easter is gorgeous! Thanks for sharing and stop by for a visit!

Hi Denise!

I *love* the tassels you created. Wow...they look like a million bucks! I've always wanted to make some of my own, but it looks difficult. Is it?

I can't wait to see your table set on Thursday...what fun! Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful week! ~Liz

No Easter plans this year. I didn't even know it was Easter. :(

I like the cross tassel because it is so 'full' looking. You're doing a good job on making them.

Hi Crafty Denise! :-) As always, love what you've come up with! The chickie is adorable! The brown & pink one is so cute - brown/pink go so well together.

I am late in our Easter planning too. Seems to sneak up on me! Your Easter meal sounds so good! Have a blessed week. Hugs!

I commented about your tassels on FB and I really think they're great! Love the little chickie one and the nativity one is really lovely. Nice that you found such a pretty ornament. Seems almost like a willow tree type of ornament. Waiting for our guys to come get the piano. We're donating it to an inner city music program but it took forever to get them out here. Enjoy the week ahead! (((Hugz)))

Our plans on extend as far as Easter Mass. Beyond that it varies a lot year to year. This year hopefully my parents will be coming in town and we'll have brunch and take a bike ride before they have to head home again.

That fat little chick is cute! Isn't tassel making addicting?? I made a nativity scene tassel for my mother for Christmas. It was so beautiful that I wished that I would have made another and took a picture of it. Sometimes when you aren't loving the tassel you've made, it just needs a new fresh approach. Don't be afraid to tear into it or add a little something more.

I found your post at Nesters.com so came by your site for a peek. I like tassels and want to attempt some of my own. While surfing for simple "how to" articles I found Nesters. OMG!! I will get the ebook this week and begin my adventure in tassel creation. Your Easter Chick Tassel is sooo cute! Thanks for posting the photos of all your creations. Great job!!
