Spring is in the air and it's making me want to clean! But not just clean... I'm having the urge to go through each room and 'pretty it up' a bit. I've painted just about every room in the house since we moved in 3 years ago, but I've never really felt like every room was totally finished. Do you ever feel like that? There's always more accessories or furniture I would like to buy - I blame all you ladies in blogland that show such lovely photos of your cozy homes ;-) It motivates me to no end to get up and get started on my own, so this week that's just what I did, and I thank you for your inspiration:-)
First on my list was our master bathroom. There's not much you can do in a bathroom, or so I thought until I saw
Melissa's lovely post about what she did in hers. I hope I don' t bore you with so many photos, but it's so hard to get the lighting right and the angle in such a small space.

I painted the room a couple of years ago and I have no idea what color green it is, some kind of sage from Behr paints I think.

The accent color matches my bedding (which I will post about at a later date). The rug and the curtain at the window came from Target.

I bought this pretty little bouquet at Kirklands this week, and after seeing someone else do the same with the candles, I added a little ribbon to them (I can't remember who's blog I saw this on recently).

On the other end of the bath I added a couple of photos and a green ivy plant I already had.

This is Jason's side of the room (above). I bought the monogrammed picture at Kirklands.

and remember the finial I bought at Goodwill a few weeks ago? I had plans to paint it either black or ivory, but I decided to use it here with some greenery as I thought the brown looked quite masculine!

This little angel and pillow hang on the hook next to the shower. When you tip the angel up she looks like a rose underneath.

And this is my side of the room(well part of it, you can see my vanity is much longer than Jason's in the first picture. This is the plant arrangement I bought at Kirklands that I had downstairs on the hallway table (all that has changed this week too, pictures will be coming soon)

And here's another look at my vanity.

Thanks for stopping by. I finally moved the black buffet in to the hallway, so I'll show pictures of that next week (if you'd like to see it).

What a beautiful bathroom. I love the decor and colors. Just browsing through the other posts.. our bookclub just read The Art of Racing in the Rain. We loved it.
It all looks so pretty and clean Denise! You really created a nice relaxing master bath to enjoy. I like the precious lamp on your vanity. Cute candles and ribbon as well. You really have beautiful tile work in here.
It's a gorgeous retreat. ~Melissa

I think you did a great job! I like the red accent color and the flowers. I agree with Melissa, it look nice and clean....not cluttered. You know I like that:)
Hi Denise, your bathroom looks so pretty! I get the urge to clean and spruce up my house in the spring months too. The light is shining in more and I'm seeing dirt I didn't notice in the winter...lol. You should recieve your arrangement soon!! Thanks again, Kristen
ooh, timely! We have a chap coming round this evening to give us a quote for totally revamping one of the shower rooms, so I'm very keen on gathering as many ideas and thoughts as poss. Even though I think I've pretty much made up my mind - Bill keeps asking me what I want for the walls/floor etc. Very exciting, but I do feel a touch of pressure now! What if he does not like my Shabby Chic inspired ideas?!!! Tough luck, he'll have to live with them! ;o)
So thank you for showing your - incredibly clean - bathroom. Given my little brain even more thoughts to play around with!
:o)
xx
Denise, you could 'never' bore me with pictures! The more, the better. What a great bathroom! You've done an incredible job. It looks so inviting & relaxing Denise. Now you have inspired me to go out & find some 'pretties' to add. LOVE the lamp in there! I see this more & more in baths & kitchens...what a homey touch. Have a great day Denise. Hugs!

What a pretty room! I love your attention to detail in all the accessories.
all your little touches are great! i love the candles & flowers in the corner, so sweet :) have a nice weekend! susan
Hi Denise! You have a nice sized bathroom. Our house is older before they made bathrooms so large. You've added a lot of nice touches. I have some of those candles that are battery operated in our bath with the jacuzzi.
Ryan slept for 3 hours today and didn't try to climb out. I moved the playpen away from the bed in the room so I think that thwarted him from climbing out. :)

You did a great job! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. I'm glad you did so that I could come by and find your page here. And I read about your PW adventures on Melanie's page earlier this week. Sounds likes fun!
